Nope. My mtn bike is my plush living room couch. Mother Nature is my big-screen TV. The remote control is the handlebars on my mtn bike. They provide the exhilaration of pleasant pleasure.

Slow pedaling thru the shady forest is kinda awesome, would suck for first timers to miss out. Goes by too fast on the DH direction.

Ok riders, I am bringing some beer, a few packages of chicken sausage and a side dish, also some utincels and bowls or plates. There will be extra food so if you don’t have time to stop and get something don’t worry about it!
I also have some energy gels(shot blocks) if anyone is in need

I prefer fire road climbs as opposed to trail climbs. On a fire road, you just get into a rhythm and spin with minimal distractions. Its wide and featureless compared to a trail.

 

Unless said fire road is 6" deep sand which is what I think @scottay was referring to.
