The Weather Thread

Here it is

 

We got solid rain today. Over 2" out of this storm, possibly approaching 3". That'll save us some irrigation water for a week or two. I'm expecting to wake up to a white Mt Lukens in the morning.

 

Did you take that??

 

Here’s one I took last month

 

Came home and found about 3 gallons of water in the drivers side floorboards, and 2 gallons in the passenger side of the new Jeep. So, I am guessing about 2" here too

 

1.5” in laguna

 

My daughter took that picture.
She was shooting the lightening storm last night, can't wait for those.

 

Wife and I went up to big bear today to tromp around in the snow. Area around aspen glen parking had 8”, so probably 12” up higher. north side of the lake about 4”. Summit looked to be blowing man made snow all day.
looking to ride somewhere early tomorrow am, probably SJ my usual after-rain go-to….Anyone think stt/luge will be dry enough?

 

35 mph gusts in Simi Valley. I guess I should have planned to ride elsewhere. Maybe I'll just let the wind blow me as far as I want to go then have Jennifer come pick me up.

 

Looks like I made the correct call to cancel my ride up on Main Divide today......

 

Its whipping at home this morning but just slightly breeezy at JPL

 

4 mph offshore breeze. Perfect for surfing!

My suitcase was stuffed with winter and summer attire (work related). I can't wait to go home.

 

I miss riding in this weather. Been raining for 2 days here.
Now that I'm a semi-responsible adult I don't.



Garden destroyers

 

I grew up drinking that beer... My dad always joked that it was made with the finest polluted water from the Genesee River.

 

Going on 4 inches here at the base of the San Gabriels... My pond certainly shows it.

 

Alot of rain, wind, and hail last night.
Going to see if there are any downed trees on the property. Give me an excuse to ride the quad in the mud. . .

Looked at the Santiago Peak webcams today to check on the snow. Saw some fresh ski tracks.
Just now I saw an Instagram post showing some skiiers.
I think that's pretty cool.

I'm only whining because I'm on vacation. I will probably be sitting in my kit, waiting for a window so I can ride my gravel bike.

 

Spoiled southern californians!! The rest of the country has single digit temps and below zero windchills......quit your whining...LOL

Yeah, my coworkers on the east coast have highs of 16deg. I text them a pic of me at the beach today, sun, shorts and t- shirts.

 

Bring on the rain, green hills, and tacky dirt.
