The scene in my driveway a few minutes ago...once I started driving, though, it dropped all the way down to 108!!!

 

but its a dry heat

 

I wish...summer monsoon (which most people don't realize we have) is in full force. It's humid.

Research is what I do...

 

115* today in lovely Henderson, NV. With a low of 89* @ about 5:30 am. Forecast shows over 100* until midnight!

 

It's nuts. The AQI here in SoCal is more the issue. Yesterday I went for a ride and the AQI (217) was so bad, I became sick throughout the day. Phlegm, coughing, etc. so this morning I sat my butt at home. The AQI was worse this morning and even worse now in the afternoon. This sucks.

Looking forward to getting out to TN where AQI is typically 8-12.

 

The AQI is adversely affected by arson.

 

It's got to be the hottest/most humid day here so far of this heat wave. It's absolutely unbearable to be outside right now. I started sweating within 60 seconds.

Loyalton Fire is over 44k acres, not far from Reno/Tahoe, totally wind-dependent air quality in the region. It's vascilated between bad and good in the last two days.

The heat wave peaks today, safe to think about bike riding if the AQ holds...?

Pretty much the same here in Phoenix. It’s hot with a side of hot. Heading to flagstaff this weekend with half the valley to get some relief. Oh did I mention one of my ac units have been out for over a week. Damn warranty company dragging their feet.

 

SCHMEAT is coming. Please, please may the days (and nights) go by without a fire.

 

Heat Storm ... As it were

 

91° at 8 am over around Whiting. 108° high. 110° predicted Sunday. Santa Ana Mountain death march anyone?

84° predicted for the high on the coast in Laguna, but 100° about 100 yards inland. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the beaches are going to be a COVID-crusted clusterf**k this weekend.

 

I'll probably be SUP'ing in a couple bays this weekend. Will be crowded, but I have my launch places and will be out somewhat early.
Will be cooler than my garage.

 

Holy hell. Forecast high for Calabasas today and Sunday jumped up to 117 overnight. The same forecast still showed a low of 72 for last night, but it was already 90 when I got up at 5:30. Glad we're getting out of dodge this morning, though we're probably trading heat for smoke in the Sierras.

 

We're getting ready to roll out from home. Supposed to be 97° by 10am.

 

It's a dry heat. El Dorado Ranch Park, Yucaipa. As viewed from my window. Damn fires.

 

They forecast 116* for Anaheim today. As of 10 miniutes ago it's 98. Still hot, and more humid than they predicted, but not as hot as they predicted. Tomorrow, who knows?

This heat wave is looking like a dud. Today is supposed to be the peak in BB. NOAA says high of 92 and it barely cracked 80; clouds came in, barely a breeze, no heat.

 

Not in Simi Valley. It was 67° a little before 7am and close to 100° by 10am. It reached 110° in the early afternoon but has since cooled to 103°.

 

Hit the trails 6am at Sycamore cyn in Newbury Park. Managed to get a good 20 mile ride and only 82 degree when I got back to car. Now at my house is 103

 

But a dud compared to the forecast hell's embers.

 

currently 110* at mi casa. had to water the dang chili peppers a moment ago before they wilted away. came in after 3 or 4 minutes and and my sunglasses were hot to the touch. hot chili beef/pork tacos with home grown serrano and jalapenos ready to go with a nice caddy margie to take the flame away.
