Any power yet?
Guess I probably shouldn't tell you that I rode my bike today... But it was only to work...

 

Yeah we got power at around 4:am this morning.
You are probably right, you shouldn’t tell me you rode your bike.
Mrs. Watson wants me to be a good neighbor and plow the roads for everyone.
So I’ll be riding my tractor in a bit... I wonder if that would make a good Thread...?

All of this tractor talk has me thinking...,my hubby would love to own a tractor, if I give him the green light for a JD, maybe he’ll let me get a new mtb

Hey @mountaingirl sara , we headed out to your neck of the woods today to see how bad it was. You guys got way more than we did for sure. Drove until we got to the road closure at Lake Hughes. Lots of downed tree limbs and some of them were blocking the road a bit.

The sledders were out in force on the hills north of L.E. I even noticed that a couple of skiers had made their way to the very top and did figure 8s.

I couldn't resist driving through a residential street or two in Lake Elizabeth. No one had been plowing the roads in that part of town. Some of the locals watched me drive through the deep stuff on their street past their cars stuck in their driveways with 2 feet of snow on top. I think they we hoping I would get stuck. AWD for the win. It was really fun to see that much snow in our neck of the woods here in Southern Canada.

Haha, nice! Yeah we live directly across from those mtns, (in fact that mtn is called “Sara’s mtn”because it’s where I learned to mtb) We watched several snow boarders make runs down the mtn too, that’s a first in our 25yrs of living here!! The locals are pretty annoyed with the towners driving too slow and gawking, they also park on and block the road to get out and play in the snow

 

My FIL has (2) JD tractors back in Durango. Luckily, the guy can fix anything. If you want reliability, go with a Kubota.

 

We didn’t stop I did see a couple of cars stopped just past the stop sign at Johnson Rd and they were playing in the snow. They were basically in the roadway and I couldn’t see if there was oncoming traffic. Towners

 

But my husband looks so good in his JD hat!
I have no idea what tractor he’d actually buy, most likely something preowned.

I second that. I have a Kubota, they have a lower center of gravity as well. Tractor folks know what I’m Taco bout.

 

I had a John Deere push lawnmower and it was flawless.

Wait, why are we talking about tractors? Oh yeah - plowing snow. Carry on!

NYE delivered about 25 cm of white stuff.

I lived in a little town in South Carolina for a year about 6th grade.

There was lots of big yards and driving mowers which I had never seen before. I used to volunteer to mow the lawns just so I could drive the mowers..

Which of course infuriated my pops because I would procrastinate on ours... Push mower

 

Shoulda traded doing the labor on theirs to rent the mower for yours!

I woke up earlier this morning sore all over from yesterday's ride, as expected.

Then all of a sudden about an hour ago, my joints, particularly my left knee, started to ache. That could mean only one thing...

So, I looked outside and sure enough, some light precip has started to fall.

 

F'ing wind.

 

There is a reason why I half-killed myself getting my exterior painting work completed on Saturday

 

No doubt!

Crazy wind here this morning. I heard a transformer blow somewhere near by and then we lost power. I was still in bed so I had not had my first cup of coffee yet and now I can’t!

 

Somehow four inches of white dropped on the Painted Desert, where'd that come from? Good time to have no bike trails and remote work.


Watch for wind and falling trees today, friends – NOAA says 70 mph gusts on San Gorgonio today. Watch those control burns, too.
