See the orange/red blob in the middle of the image you supplied? That was ground zero for me when I posted the raining dinosaurs remark.

I would be shocked if we didn't get at least 2" here today.

I saw the aftermath of a nasty car crash today when I was leaving one of my work stops. A Porsche Panamera hit a very large pool of water on a fully flooded street. It got airborne and landed front first into the tree trunk of a very large tree. I heard it happen while I was working. Sounded like a mini sonic boom. My client says she "felt" it. Their dog woke suddenly out of a deep sleep and started barking. The accident happened about a half residential block away from where I was working.

It's wet in Oceanside but nothing too crazy. Mostly light rain or heavy drizzle for the most part when I was outside.

Ok now that I live up North I can talk smack about you SoCal folks going crazy over rain haha! It seriously rains here almost non stop and there’s hardly any change to anyone’s life lol. :D Been getting a kick out of all the social media posts about the rain.

In all seriousness though, I’m stoked it’s raining in Cali knowing how badly it’s needed! Keep it coming and hope everyone stays safe.

Believe it or not it was beautiful and sunny this past weekend in Seattle. Come to think of it, everyone was actually talking about the Sun for once!!

How's the Sierra snowpack looking? Are these storms translating into some serious precipitation up north?

    Um,
The snowpack at my house is currently at 6 to 8 inches. I barely got home alive from all the idiots nearing the Tejon Pass. The pass was closed yet people did not heed that and got it all blocked in metal vehicle carnage. You could not know where the road was or which way traffic direction went due to spun out vehicles facing every direction imaginable! Looked like a snowed in salvage yard. :gotnothing: Yet... I was able to weave through it all in my Honda Civic. Growing up a country boy pays dividends.
Stuck at home now waiting for the apocalypse to be cleared off the highway to even attempt to go to work.

Growing up in Buffalo, and learning to drive on solid ice, I'd take a Honda Civic over any truck for that type of driving. Weight on the drive wheels, Baby! We used to have steel plates for the trucks to keep them on the road. At least 1000 pounds in the bed over the rear wheels.

On ice... 83 Dodge Colt trumps police cruiser. :whistling: Damn, that made my cop brother mad. :p

The old VW bug was the best on ice and snow, all the weight on the those skinny rear tires and little torque to break them loose. We used to have a ball in the front wheel drives too, pull the e-brake to lock up the rear, hit the gas to steer and do a 360, then continue on. That maneuver was a right-of-passage in the midwest (well, for those of us that didn't drive trucks)
(PS, some motorheads may remember the mid 80s Indy 500 where Danny Sullivan did the "spin and win". All us locals said, yeah, we could do that, on ice at 30 MPH, not pavement at 200...)o_O

I turned mine off after the first rains a couple of months ago.

Growing up in Portland Oregon we always had a couple weeks of freezing rain. That's where you really learn how to modulate the throttle.

    Memory lane, Knuckles!

Between my father and brother, they probably had 6 bugs- and two running at any given time. :p The only drawback... We froze in the winter! It's what I learned to drive when I was a little kid... VW field car with the body cut off. :inlove:

Is that a bug zapper (highly needed in current conditions) or an empty squirrel feeder?

Oy, some big accumulations there, with wind...at 8800'. Whitney summit snowfall and wind looks a bit less, but colder. Badass storm, we need it. TFPU, Steve.
