Anyone up to ride the Whiting/Luge Loop this Thursday 5/21/20 around 4pm? Parking at Cooks Corner , or nearby if closed. Any chance anyone on here know if Cooks Corner Parking lot is open?

Cooks parking was still closed as of Sunday.

 

You could always park at the lot behind Wahoos Fish Tacos at Glenn Ranch and Portola. Huge parking lot (park away from the shops and businesses) and finish with a glorious run through Whiting rather than a climb.

 

Cooks corner parking was still closed yesterday when I rode past. People are either parking on Santiago Canyon just past Modjeska Grade or Crystal Canyon further down towards Cooks. Like @herzalot said I'd park at Glenn ranch and Portola. Ride in through Whiting onto the Luge and then DH finish to back through Whiting.

I'm keen to join you as long as I can get out of work in time. I'm pretty easy to spot, orange helmet, shoes and backpack on an ugly AF bike

^^^^This is also the way I ride it all the time as well. Need to get Mustard out of the way early.

 

Man of leisure, that would be nice. But no, thankfully I'm still employed. My afternoon rides tend to be fairly short, like a whiting loop which I probably will do tomorrow afternoon

For a whiting luge run, Saturday mornings are good, but damn there's a lot of people out these days so be sure to bring your awareness bell! I could be talked into this....

And yes, park near wahoos, get mustard out of the way early and finish with some nice single-track.

 

So 4pm at the entrance by Wahoos, we can talk about the state of the world on the way up Mustard. If @Blif is there I'll follow him onto the Luge and you can carry on in Whiting, if he doesn't turn up I'll keep talking Sh!t to you and be home earlier for beer!

 

I’m good for a 4pm start at Wahoos! I haven’t rode Whiting much so it’ll help to have a small group. I’m also open to waiting it out a bit more if we can get more of a group! More the merrier!
