I thought Sutherland did a great job in the 24 series.

Of the newer shows, I liked Succession. The Wire if you haven't watched it already. Probably the best cinema I've ever seen. Euphoria is supposed to be good, but I have teenagers and don't need something that close to home. And Veep... OMG Veep is the BEST! I've watched it through twice, and it is so densely packed with verbal and visual humor.

I thought it was good. Falls in line with what I expect from a Tom Hanks movie.

    Bosch is quite good.

And Barbarians on Netflix is pretty dang good. It's in German so subtitles needed for most of us, but IMO that adds to the enjoyment of the series. Careful though, it's binge worthy.

We just finished Barbarians and although it's dubbed, they actually did a pretty good job.

I didn't watch it dubbed, kept German with subtitles.
Kind of like the original Girl With a Dragon Tatoo....better in Swedish.

The newer english version of GWaDT is on Netflix now. Watched it for the second time. Pretty good, but the original is better.

On Hulu, Fargo was fun. Seasons 1 and 2 were really good, could not get into Season 3, but season 4 with Chris Rock and Jason Swartzman was well done. There is a common thread through all seasons, but each season can stand on its own,

Y'all non-Southerners is funny. Not sure how I missed that discussion, but further clarification is necessary. "All y'all" is typically not a reference to the size, or completeness of a group. It's more of an exclamation point, typically in the negative. For example, in a group of 5, 1 could turn to the other 4 and say "I like y'all. Y'all want to come over to my house?". If they decline, that same 1 person could retort to the same group of 4, "well f@ck all y'all.". Hope that helps.

The trial of the Chicago 7 on Netflix. Great movie, educational for me. Some modern day parallels to what happened in the 60's!

This means my use of “all ya’llz” has no negative connotation in your context. The z represents the SoCal undertone.

Agree. The Wire (my #1) did produce lots of future stars - 2 of whom are on Bosch (Amazon Prime - Bosch's partner and the Chief of Police) which is also an excellent series.

    Other great streaming series:
Chernobyl (HBO) - had no interest in seeing this but my son wanted to too...mind blown. Just 5 episodes but tied with The Wire as my #1.
    Westworld (HBO) season 1
    Homeland (Showtime) seasons 1 -5
Band of Brothers (HBO) 20 years old (like The Wire) but still amazing
Ray Donovan (Showtime) solid but not on same level as the above

I think it's easier to follow the story arcs with multiple characters and plot lines by bingeing 2 episodes at a time on consecutive nights so generally sign up to a streaming service for a month to watch the series I'm interested in and then cancel.

For the WireHeads, how about Treme? Loved it, great music, food, culture and ambience of post-Katrina N'arlins. Lots of recognizable actors and sub-stories so give a while to develop.

Watched it last night. Was good, not great. Enjoyed it. Does Jared Leto even know how to play a normal character?

IMO the Swedish version is far better (even reading subtitles) and the other 2 movies in Swedish Dragon Tattoo trilogy pull all the threads together. Excellent.

@senderos_949 Thanks for the rec on Chernobyl. It's been in my watch queue for a long time, but haven't got around to it. I like short mini-series like that. The McDonalds one was good as well.

@scottay GC was soooo wooden. They were trying for a younger Lucy Lawless, but all they could find was a cardboard cutout. We've been really enjoying WandaVision... hope the payoff is worth it! Just re-watched Antman and the Wasp tonight, and it has a lot of tie ins.
