The 2nd Annual IMTBTRAILS pool party!

It's getting to be that time of year!! Thoughts / suggestions for the next pool party? A couple of take-aways from last year:

(1) Start earlier (like 1 or 2PM instead of 4PM)
(2) More women and kids
(3) Drink @Mikie 's beer before he leaves with it.

Here are the Saturdays that are open on my calendar:

Aug 31 (Labor Day weekend)
Sep 7
Sep 14
Sep 21
Sep 28

I liked the idea of a social ride prior to the BBQ. With last year's fire we've been limited with what we could do, but perhaps a Maple Springs / Motorway loop or something similar. Maybe @mtnbikej has some suggestions?

Thoughts?

 

Probably ought to make it as late on the calendar as possible if there is to be a social ride prior.

 

Actually, a 3-4 hour tour of Aliso-LCWP makes the suggested timeframe pretty easy. Ride from 9:00-1:00. Could also easily do SJT to Cocktail Rock and back in that time.

Ooops, misread your post. You said late on the calendar, not late in the day. My bad. I have no opinion about that (believe it or not).

 

I was actually thinking about Aliso... because of you and because of it being pretty close to my house. My only hesitation was knowing what it could be like on a Saturday AM. However the same could be said about many places.

SJT would be kinda cool because if we were really organized we could combine a shuttle group with a climb group. Meet at Cocktail Rock at a certain time, and everyone descend together.

 

Jennifer and I are in! Unless it's September 14th. We'll be doing the Tehachapi Gran Fondo on that date. In that case we're not in.

 

Just wanna make sure that riding would not be done in the heat of the day during the hot season.

And, we party all stinky, like real mountain bikers?

 

I'm gonna be in Bend the weekend of 9/21. The rest of the weekends work.

We did Whiting/Old Camp last year. An Aliso Loop may not be a bad idea.

1:00'ish party start is good. AM ride.

 

We're down to August 31st, September 7th or September 28th.

 

Aliso crowd begins to thin at 10:00 am - unless a group of 20 Hooligans shows up, that is.

 

That's what the pool is for It's amazing what a dip in the pool, and a frozen margarita or ice cold beer will do, to return you to humanity

If you are REALLY stinky, you can hop in the koi pond. Koi aren't particularly discriminating when it comes to humans Some of the girls were in the pond last year

Thanks for hosting again... this was a LOT of fun last year and those who didn't show missed out!

My only thought on it, is that tying in a ride won't help get more kids/spouses there.

 

If its after the 7th then we will be in town. I'd be down for a ride / beers / shenanigans assuming we aren't looking for somewhere to live!

Doing what I do for a living, I'd much prefer to bathe (rinse off) in the koi pond, thank you very much.

 

Looking at this thread and checking the calendar, looks like there was no conclusion reached on the date?
