I hope and assume that my posts were taken in the tongue-in-cheek nature that they were intended. As with most of life's complexities there is always an analogy to be found in a YouTube link of a Seinfeld clip. Social ride = no games?

If you guys are referring to Koko it was indeed a social pace. We just knew what to expect and went the same effort all day long. In hindsight our 2016 Koko trip was not exactly a social pace though...

Exactly... What are we supposed to do when somebody else drops the hammer or starts the smack talk'n...

When I got my Tailwind today, and remembered it was a social pace, the lightbulb went off that I could win. So yeah, like Mikie said, THIS IS A SOCIAL PACE. Hmmm, maybe it should have also occurred to me that I'm not familiar with this trail at all, so it might be hard to win if I can't actually find my way back to the finish line. I guess it will be a participation trophy for me after all.

I think the official ride thread is the law of the land, and this one is just people being weird. I can confirm that the last social ride was mellow.

With a group this size, the pace has to be social. Otherwise the fast guys are waiting so long for the rest to catch up that they stiffen up and get grumpy.

Anyway, we've got @Faust29 running Sweep. If you'd like, I will lead and keep it at a Social pace.

Have you ridden with J in a social setting? I guarantee he will not finish first. He may finish last. It's in his nature to help everybody else have fun.
