I bought this bike thinking it would be a great weapon to take to Kokopelli but health issues kept me from going this year. I'm currently having too much fun with my hardtails and this is just too nice of a bike to sit, somebody needs to be out enjoying it. I'll probably replace it with a more commuter friendly rig.

Local low mileage one owner beauty, seriously it could pass for new if I didn't point out a couple small flaws.

Bike has a total of 160 miles on it. Wheels and tires only have 20 miles on them.

Frame not registered and you get the original receipt.

Deore"ish" build. I say this because Ibis has been shipping bikes with whatever parts they can. In this case the only Deore parts are the derailleur and the brakes, everything else would be an upgrade.

I'm a no BS kind of guy and so is the buyer. Every other one I've seen for sale they are asking more than what they paid new which is crap if you ask me.

I got one in the rear that indicates 2.35” but measures 2.41” on a RaceFace Turbine R 30mm rim. It grips and brakes well and weighs only 740 grams, but it rolls like Sh!t and I need to put at least 27 psi to keep the sidewalls from folding over on turns. The knobs used to be square, but now they are ramped in the back from hard braking (rather than the front from rolling forward). I estimate it has 300 miles on it, and it still has about 200 more under a best case scenario. I probably won’t buy another Nobby Nic.

 

To be honest... (YMMV) I have just not had good luck with Schwalbe tires. Low mileage, side wall cuts, easily punctured and ripped tread. But I always messed up to not take a caliper to them!

 

Don't forget expensive.

I ran the 2.35 NN and 2.35 HD for a long time on my old "Blue B!tch" Ripley and always liked them. They went on small but after stretching always measured around 2.400-2.450 . I always ran them around 20 psi and I thought that combo rolled great but not the greatest grip. New ones are heavier and I can't understand their naming and rubber compounds anymore not to mention the prices suck.

 

Mikie, you neglected your Schwalbies by not measuring them, so it appears they neglected you. Mine shows signs of slicing on the sidewalls and tread, but it seeps sealant only a little and holds air fine. Definitely, I have been fortunate not to bust this one in the field…perhaps because I haven’t ridden it it along the Main Divide or any other fireroads on a ride in which @Faust29 is a participant. I bought it only because it was a prior-generation clearance sale item after the addix line was released.
