Society for California Archaeology

This weekend at the Ontario Airport DoubleTree Hotel, hundreds of archaeologists are gathering to consume copious liters of alcohol and maybe attend a lecture or two.

The Silent Auction at the Chino Planes of Fame Air Museum is the place to be tonight. Highly exclusive guest list and I do not have a ticket. I'm not even on the waiting list.

That's so coincidental, yesterday we got a wrongly delivered piece of mail from The International Brotherhood of Magicians. Guess I should have opened it, maybe there was an invite inside That'd probably be a fun conference

The ticket was real and the party unreal. What happens in the field stays in the field and is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act. I am always amazed about two things: First, how people can consume so much alcohol and still function; second, how no matter how much fire I put to bridges, they simply will not burn. I am grateful.

 

Every time I look at this I think of the other SCA...Society for Creative Anachronisms.
