I'm all about the intermediate jumps. They didn't use to have any. Maybe they do now. Can't join you though, so have fun and land on the rubber side!

Like but no like. It’s good to know what you like and want to do. Sometimes it gets harder to hang with the old buds because of it. Wtf, that’s recreation?

I think most riders want safety. I don’t see a tame resort jump line as more dangerous than other types of difficulty. A quick mental survey of injuries reported here doesn’t note anyone hurt getting air or trying to. (@rossage cliff diving notwithstanding.)

    Paging @Sidewalk, @doublewide, @ridinrox, other airmen and women…

I haven't gotten hurt going big, just going small. Just more risk of a large injury going big.

Most Westridge is pretty tame. You can get some air on some stuff, but you have to go out of your way for most of it. Nothing is mandatory. I haven't seen the new "Blue Steel" line, but I believe it is a tamer jump line.

My top 3 worst injuries from riding MTB are all from "sending it" through the air. Granted that the numbers of times I have eaten shiat while jumping is very low. But, when it goes bad it ends even worse. And, the worst one of all was at Summit on Westridge back in 2014. It only happened cause I got scared a grabbed some brake lever right before I hit the lip. I learned that day that once you are committed, stay committed. My last second attempt to avoid the jump cost me dearly.

About the only time I get hurt on jumps are the man made ones, funny same goes for me in the snow. Snow is a softer landing but you slide longer

There is a guy who started routinely riding with my group...one of the reasons I stopped riding with them, and that is what he does all the time. He, for whatever reason, feels he needs to hit the same jumps as the best rider in the group and has wrecked so many times from checking up right before launch. He did it right behind me on a big gap at Vail and sent the bike he was on into the gap (a borrowed bike at that). He also recently did it on another big gap and landed right straight into the face of the landing ramp.

Commit to going full send, or don't try to send. There is no inbetween sometimes. And check your ego.

Hesitation breeds devastation - especially on gaps and doubles!

If you jump like I do, you get twice the jumps per run. I jump up onto the table top, then jump off!
