SKYLINE! Big Bear 7/2/16

This is just an idea.... It's worked before.
We'll all meet & greet at Snow Summit. When we are ready to roll, the "slower group" will jump on a vehicle and drive to here.

Which is the east end of Skyline trail, that way they have a 20-30 minutes head start on the rest.

 

If I were going, I would say... "It's an out and back. The slower group can turn around anywhere they like."

But I'm not going, so I won't say that.

 

Mikie posted an O&B 'cuz it's the only way he knows.
I have a better route as a loop it includes Trick or Treat, Cabin 89 and Hochiminh.

 

Turn around? How does that work? You mean choose to not get the whole ride?

I promise to behave myself....and I'm all for the social aspect of this ride.

Should be fun times. I'm looking for ward to it.

I might be camping Saturday night. For more riding on sunday.

 

Where? I was thinking of doing the same thing but didn't know where to camp. I may just sleep in the back of the car

 

Hate to miss this one since the last group ride was so much fun. Out of town visitors so I need to stay local. Have fun you guys and gals.

 

That's the way I like doing skyline too. Also parking at Aspen Glen Day use area and finishing with cabin 89

 

If you don't have a reservation, I doubt you'd find an open spot for the weekend. Yellow post maybe

 

Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi? No, too cliche - besides he'd have to change the lyrics to "...on a plastic horse I ride..." it just doesn't sound the same. Anyway, I think Deadliest Catch has exclusive rights to it now.

I think I got my wife onboard to head up to Big Bear in the morning so I might actually make it.

 

Work went as planned so we're in and the wifey did laundry which means I'll be a representing . Not too familiar with skyline so this will be some new dirt. Might sneak a run down SS at the end .

 

I hope there's enough room on the mountain for all of us!

I had already made plans for Saturday a while ago.
Bummer I have to miss this one.

 

Looks like I will be there riding the wifes bike! Yes there will be lycra on this ride, sorry no shaved legs and the extra lube Mikie mentioned will be left in the truck.

 

I wasn't thinking about it being the long weekend. @bigringrider101 is probably right. You might get lucky to find a secluded yellow post site.

 

Go get 'em boys and girls. I'm heading to bed. Looking forward to hearing about the invasion of Skyline on the news tomorrow.

 

Parker and I will be there if the teenager doesn't decide to sleep in last minute.
