Silverado Truck Trail Petition

Folks what is this? I am a bit confused..

Is that the Motorway?

It's right next to the old Silverado School (now becoming a library) on Santiago Canyon as far as I know.
I think trails connect almost to 4 Corners.
Never knew there was public access.
I've long been curious about getting in that area.

Is there a trailhead behind the Silverado Cafe? Is this where that trail ends up called smash face or something like that?

 

Signed. I believe it goes up the ridge between silverado canyon and harding canyon, peters out overgrown and dead ends a couple miles below 4 corners. Probabaly used to connect.
Smashface is on the north side of silverado canyon.

No Smashface ends directly across Silverado Canyon are at the market.

I was on it a long time ago with a Silverado Canyon local. We took it up all the way, and it ended up dropping down a bunch of Singletracks that out us just behind the Visitors Center at the Maple Springs gate.

 

Ah, got it on the Smashface part.. haven't looked into that trail much as it doesn't seem like one to take solo.

I see a trail/road that heads up behind the cafe area and meets the Silverado Truck trail called Willams Spur, is that a main access point that you know of? It also looks like there are some access points in Irvine Mesa road and School Road closer to the entrance of the canyon and I assume this is the stuff the petition is about.

Are the access points in the petition any or all of the 3 left arrows below? Then it looks like the trail continues on to meet up with STT/Williams Spur.

 

Same here... I can see these trails from Harding, Motorway, etc... But I didn't think they were accessible.

Had no idea that IRC/OCParks was doing hikes and going to allow access. Gotta look into that.

Baker Canyon / Black Star Canyon open access day of IRC is nice. Best for walking but you can add a bike loop before going up the usual Black Star canyon. It is pretty up there
