Well we enjoyed a hike in el Moro today, it was empty. We figured The $15 parking would keep the riffraff out and it did. But now I am $15 closer to becoming riffraff myself, what with my likely unemployment and all. Oh well, yolo

Does CHP patrol the canyons? Thought it should be OCSD as they aren't even state highways.

I've found some of the Silverado signs in the past humorous.

With most people staying home, all these people going out makes quite a mess.

Seems most of those no parking areas listed already are no parking.

    Silverado is OCSD
Santiago Canyon is S18 on the map, so CHP.

Just blame it on me. "Oh the guy who took down all the signs was a real nut-case. Fortunately, he recently moved to North Carolina." :)

They are talking about this on the next-door app... The residents have been calling the OCSD, and have been told that the sheriff's deputies can't ticket for the parking violations in the canyon. It's the CHP that handles it.

As if CHP officers have nothing better to do...

Depends on where in the canyon.

S18 is a county route, not a state highway. OCSD would patrol it unless the county has an agreement with CHP.

People are ignoring the no parking signs and parking anyway on Silverado Canyon Road by Blackstar and Santiago Canyon Road also. Up at Maple Springs the signs have been put where people have no right to park ever so there is no loss of parking spaces.

Yes county contracts with CHP to handle traffic patrol in the canyon.
