I believe he said he has his hardtail with him and since he is coming off double knee replacement I seem to recall him saying he is leaning more towards the xc trails. If we go to the the high elevation gonna be really cold and chance of snow cover. As far as centrally located to the members here maybe we are thinking Marshall canyon , Oaks, Chino Hills, Monroe, Aliso? If you are talking epic type then PCE, Joplin, Holy jim ish?

Well Gents, the knees are fine! I’m just finding the jumps are out. I didn’t want to drive too far as I am in my diesel dodge 4x. I was kinda thinking Chilao but I didn’t bring cold weather gear, and as much as @DangerDirtyD is hoping for a Night Ranger event, sorry buddy! Trying to pick something central for everyone. Sunday is out as I am loading up my Dump Trailer for the haul back, next Wednesday to the Land of Oz.

I love PCE but not on my hardtail and that’s a drive from my place. Is Chilao out?

 

The McGwires were up there with a crew two weekends ago working on the Silver Moccasin switchbacks. It might be cold and wet, but I have rain gear and warm gloves...

The switchbacks were in really chunky blown-out shape... Like "you're not gonna be within 5 minutes of your PR" shape. I'd like to see the changes...

Edit: The storm forecast has been downgraded quite a bit.

 

Im thinking it would be cold AF up at Chilao with a possible snow dusting. Latest weather forecast says that there is a energy wave coming through Friday night. We should stay in lower elevations.

 

When I was living in Rowland Heights ( before paved roads. Lol) rain, sleet, snow, wind, heat, never kept me from my loops at Turnbull and Powder Canyon rides.
As I sit in my chair with the fireplace going, drinking my hot coffee, dog on my lap, waiting for the rain at 9:00 this morning.
I'm getting old.
