Awesome guys. So checking in one last time. Per Tom's request, we will all meet at Mill Creek Rd where Tom stated about. Not sure if we all get cell coverage, but I will be in a White Mazda CX and I'm pretty sure we will not be able to miss each other all gathering at the same spot! Feel free to text or call me in the am. I'll be on the road by 615 planning to be there 0730. see ya then... Ken 909.635.4899

I'm on a hard tail too unless you meant fully rigid bike. That may be tough. You should go for it! We can suffer together...

I'm bailing at the last second, got new meds for a small infection in/on my elbow from near my stitches and they are not sitting in my stomach to well. The other 2 are out two. Hope you all have a fun and safe ride.

Of course! Like others have stated, it's a big group to try to go out and hammer, but for a more social ride it's all good. We take a good head count, and periodically at any junctions wait till all are accounted for. I'm very familiar with the trail as I'm sure many of you are too. One last suggestion; bring plenty of water and a decent amount of real food. Everyone if different but that's my take. Sunscreen seems obvious too for a day like tomorrow...

This will surprise no one... ready?..... Wait for it....

    I'm out.

Can't justify the time away. No elaborate excuses, just boring ol' priorities. Cougar and I are hitting the local slopes at 7am and we'll have our 3500' in and bikes back on the car/in the truck by 10am. Home by 10:30.

I desperately need a ride away from the usual, on some new turf, in the woods preferably, but not this weekend. I am planning a Tahoe run this summer.

  12. Thanks. It's an HT but I don't think my back could handle this ride on a HT and I don't want to take any chances after a successful few days of riding since jumping back On the bike.

If you are not riding Northstar every day, I suggest that you get up to Crystal Lake and start riding those trails up there. They will prepare you for the altitude and tough climbs Tahoe has in store. Big Bear trails like summit does not get you ready for Tahoe. You can make Tahoe easier with point to point rides but 10 miles in Tahoe is like 20 miles around your local mountains. I love riding Tahoe Rim but after a couple of days I don't ever want to ever climb another square edged 12 inch step-up.

Thanks. I've been there a couple of times, but I've only done a couple of segments of Tahoe Rim (including the required Flume trail). I can't remember the names of the other segments. I've never done Mr. Toad's, so I may want to take the time to go down there. I will probably be staying in Truckee - a long way from South Lake Tahoe.

I doubt I will do Northstar more than twice. I always feel I am pushing my luck at bike parks after about 5 or 6 runs. I will be looking for some trails on the north end of the lake.

But this is now a complete thread derail, so perhaps I will start one about Tahoe riding and people can chime in with their experiences and advice.
