What's the current parking situation up near Angelus Oaks? Can you park in the big dirt lot just past town? I'm sure the lots at South Fork, Barton Flats and Heart Bar are blocked off/locked up but can you park outside the gates? Ideally we'd like to shuttle from Heart Bar down to Angelus Oaks....

Developed recreation sites, such as picnic areas and campgrounds, are closed through May 15. TRAILHEADS AND OHV STAGING AREAS REMAIN OPEN, however if the they have a picnic area, those facilities are closed. Camping at staging areas is also not allowed at this time. :D

@mtbMike The big pull out off of Hwy 38 by Middle Control Road is open. I think @scan parked on Glass Road. Don't know about SF area. I like to park down by the Seven Oaks bridge.

Drove on the 38 last weekend and saw lots of cars with bike racks near the bottom. Thought there must be mtb trails, but then saw so many roadies climbing the 38 wasn't sure.
Now I know, SART is there,, and I also saw a sign for Barton flats IIRC.

When I did it, I parked on glass road down where SART Crosses. There is indeed parking at the top of middle control along the 38, there is parking at the restaurant, you can also park on the gravel turn around along seven oaks road in either direction from glass road. I would personally try to avoid parking at the restaurant as it's a bit of a red flag of people from outside of the area flooding in and I could see the locals getting wishy washy on that. I'd approach them in this order, Top of middle control along 38, Glass road (note it's private property and no parking until you're about 1/2" mile from teh bottom), and then seven oaks road turnouts.

I've never been privy to ending a ride with a climb if I have the alternative, which is descending (happy ending).

Cyclo identifies with that where he prefers to end. For what it's worth, there is parking at the trailhead for Wildhorse, a few vehicles only, I'm thinking it's 2n93 on the left of hwy 38 a little below Heart bar. One could loop that out to 38 and continue to South Fork and choose where you wanna finish.

Just a suggestion, whatever the route, hope you'll have a super outing.

    DIspersed yes, campgrounds, no.

Rode a bit of SART yesterday. Loch Leven is closed. But the parking area at the bottom of the lookout with the shitty steep climb is open. WHich is what I did o_O

Had some quality time on the SART today. I like parking at the Morton Road lot, riding at the highway to lockleaven and then riding across the Constance peak section and then back down. 20 mi really fun loop!
