I'm wondering if Angelus Oaks will get snow there from this storm. Big Bear is supposed to get dumped on, don't know if it'll be cold enough at their elevation.

Has anyone been on sart recently? Is it clear of snow and is there a lot of deadfall?

haven't been on it since last fall.. but my new favorite way to hit the SART is to park at the post office, go down and do the post office loop single track, then take the fireroad (5 oaks road?) back all the way up, avoiding all the single track climbing.. the fire road even becomes partially paved road, (not Highway 38). There is never any traffic, bike or car on the fire road climb. Very pleasant, nice views, some wildlife. Then as you get closer to Highway 38, the beginning of the SART is on your right. Single track bliss! then back up to your car.....

makes it a nice big loop, no worries about shuttles, and makes the single track downhill more one way...

With so many conservative ideologies in this community, I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of commentary regarding the evictions along SART.

    http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2017...45df145&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=social

To demonstrate, having somewhat slept in my comfortable bed under an insulated roof donning solar panels, and having paid $15-30 hundreds of nights to camp, I am in favor of the trail maintenance on SART near The Pond. However, as is often the case with projects in California, the capital improvement may be organized and executed efficiently, but the subsequent operation and maintenance of the project is most likely half baked.

I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for here. :whistling:o_O
This is a political situation that has nothing to do with mountain bike trail conditions. I guess we could open a new forum on politics and blast each other and ruin friendships on things that don't matter regarding bicycles. You are probably catching that I'm not too fond of that idea. :sneaky:
We can always have a "spirited" conversation over in "Conversations" if you like, but I suspect I know where that will end. ;)

So maybe we should stick to concerns of cleaning up trees as oppose to cleaning up hyper dermic needles and crack pipes. oops!

Perfect SARTurday today. Only 1 downed tree on the section between Glass and middle control rd. Don't know about past that towards South fork CG. Trail was in great shape, a little loose in places.

    18 miles, 2400 elev.
