Santa Ana's Sufferfest....er Epic, Yeah...Epic?

Sooooooo.....Looks like temps this weekend are going to be outstanding.

Haven't ridden since Saturday, I should get out tomorrow.

I wanna do a big/bigger ride on Satruday or Sunday....something out in the Santa Ana's.

Looking for something in the 50+ miles / 7500'+ ascent.

I have all day....just gotta be home by 6 pm.

Could be up for:
Holy Jim/San Juan
Harding/San Juan
Blackstar/4 Peaks/Skyline
Blackstar/Eagle/Sierra Peak
Blackstar/Coal/Chino Hills
Oaks/Weir/Chino Hills
Holy Jim/Indian Truck Trail down & up/Trabuco

Baseball on Saturday... My ride day will be Sunday. I did a 65 miler last Superbowl, so I was hoping for a repeat.

 

I forgot about Super Bowl....but I could do Sunday. Just need to get in a big ride.

 

A ride is way better than watching football.

I was thinking about MTT, lower and upper, plus my jaunt up to Mt Baldy Village from the top of GMR/GRR with whatever dirt someone wants to show me on that piece of it. Then Lower MTT back down.

But I could be up for B*/Sierra/Skyline & return.

 

I owe this weekend to my wife to reciprocate for Death Valley and the San Juan epic the weekend before.

 

Are we the only guys in the country who won't be watching the game?

 

Don't really care about it....if I did, I'd be in Arizona with the rest of the family at a SB party.

Then again, I could DVR it, and still go for a big ride.

 

No. I have zero interest in footbase or whatever its called.

 

And watch the 5 minutes out of the 4 hours that might actually be interesting...the commercials.

 

Panthers are my team; so I'm totally watching the Super Bowl Sunday.

I'm interested in a Saturday ride, but I need more time back on the bike before I slow you down (more than usual) for one of your biggun's.

 

Holy Moly, why not just link all those trails together?

Going to Sycamore Saturday and watching the Bowl with family Sunday anyways. Have fun!

 

Trabuco-Los Pinos-San Juan-Yeager? Never done it with the Yeager finish, just Trabuco. ±32 miles and less than 5 of them on roads from HJ parking (add 9 miles of road starting from the wash). HAB might not be everyone's favorite activity, but gotta do LP at least once : )

SuperBowl Sunday is one of my favorite days to go for a ride. It's like going for a ride on Thanksgiving or Christmas without the guilt from the family!
Not that I would know about that...

 

I want to try out one of your rides one of these days. Can't make this one, as I will be at Sycamore too.

 

I only watch when "my" team is in it. That team is... The Denver Broncos.

Yes, I have been horrified as I watched them get decimated by San Francisco, Washington, The Giants and most recently Seattle. I've watched them set the record for most Super Bowl losses and Worst Super Bowl Defeats. But I reveled in the glory of John Elway's helicopter dive to gain extra yards in their win against Green Bay.

Other than that, I used to love to golf or ski on Super Bowl Sunday, 'cause no one was out.

But no - I don't think I will join any Santa Ana Sufferfests. I may do laps of DH practice at Fontana Saturday and ride locally Sunday. Gotta try out Kioti and Bonsai's new berms.

 

Oh... There are things far worse for football fans. You could have been born a Buffalo Bills fan.

 

I'd be up for several on that list... I've never ridden in Chino Hills, and haven't done Indian Truck Trail. I may check with the wife and see if there's a possibility for parole on Saturday.

 

It's not just football this Sunday ... can you say PUPPY BOWL 2016!!


I'll be channel flipping between the two and watching to see if my pool numbers come up.
Of course I'll need to ride first to justify watching TV later in the day.

 

The fame starts at like 3:30. Giving a 6 am start and 30 minutes to drive home you have about 9 hours to ride. Enough time for a pretty good spin.

I'm out but enjoyed my holy Jim, Trabuco, Cadillac, luge, O'neil loop. It has several places to add miles.

 

Hah! The one day of Football I DO watch with Mrs. Watson. We gather our favorite Junk Food, bundle up to a fire, figure out who is the underdog and cheer for them and watch the commercials. Last couple of years the commercials have kinda sucked. You can only watch a dog with Doritos so many times...

 

Pivot demo Sunday morning at Tapia. Beer & junkfood & commercials in the afternoon. Honestly don't even know who's playing and don't really care...
