IMO this is the perfect event for Tailwind Nutrition - for most (@Faust29, @mtnbikej , @singlespeedrider , etc excluded) this is an endurance event.
If you and Cathy decide to have a booth, we need to make it an IMTB event. We are not riding but we will come out to support the team!

You'll never know if you're not there!

This event is more about the charity and the party atmosphere than the ride itself. If there is one event in Southern California to promote anything related to mountain biking, this is it. 1200 riders? Where else are you going to find that much exposure and networking potential? Put on that smile and get out there.

Oh. And I think you and Cathy should stay the night and ride with us on Sunday. :p I think the plan with @UPSed is for a Whiting and Luge loop. There are always mountain loops available though...

I look forward to seeing you all out there next Saturday, the 28th. I'll be volunteering at the registration booth, be sure to come by and say hi!

Jennifer and I won't be down there until around 9 Friday night. The website shows 6:30 a.m. check in time. That doesn't leave much time to put away anything we get when we check in. Is there any way to check in earlier?

    Hi Ed,

The only other check in that is being held is on Friday night at Rock 'n Road, however, that won't work for you either. You'll be fine on Saturday morning. Sorry that there isn't volunteer power to host other hours for check in :-(. The things you will get upon check in are a number plate, swag bag and t-shirt. If you need someone to hang on to your swag bag and t-shirt....you could ask me really nice and maybe I could do that for ya ;-) (but shhhhhh...don't tell anyone, otherwise EVERYONE will want me to do that for them....lol)

Parking is right by the check-in, so it should be fine...

    Or...

If they allow friends to pick up bags, I could get yours on Friday and bring it to you on Friday night. @horsebikerider - Any idea if friends can pick up packets?

If you need to, let me know and I can stash it in my car since I get there early enough to be within a minute's ride distance of pickup. Of course, that's if you're willing to wait for me to finish to pick it up from me... :notworthy::Roflmao

Will you be at R&R for registration on Friday?
If not, I'll just do it on Saturday. I'm sure I've run into you a number of times, but we've never really met. Gotta make that happen.
    Great last name, BTW.

I'll have to check with the chiefs about if friends can pick up plates and packets for others, as I am just an Indian. I'll let you know on Monday.

    Hi Jim,

No, at this point in time, I am not scheduled to be at R&R on Friday, as they already have volunteers covered for that. But I'll let you know if that changes.
Yes, we probably have met or crossed paths at some point. Either way, I look forward to seeing you on Saturday :)

No problem! I'm sure you'll be fine. As stated by others, the parking lot is very close to the start line so you won't have any problem with time. Plus, since it's not a timed event, you can leave at your leisure.

The first time I did the ride, I barely made the cutoffs and was one of the last to finish.

    Sorta like me on CC.....

I have no doubt Jennifed :Roflmao can make it. Just need to pay attention to the hangups at the start. Keep an eye on the total time. Not really difficult to make the cutoffs, but the traffic can make it problematic.

I'm going to bring a bunch of folding chairs so we can "kick it" at our booth. I will also bring a HUGE cooler stuffed with ice you can throw some brews in while you hang out.

I wanted to ride this event but my back just isn't well enough. I'll be there to hang out and drink beer while people ride however. Heckling incoming in 3..2...1...

Yes, you can pick up packets/number plates for friends

And, we are double checking the timing on Saturday morning for plate pick up versus ride start time. We may be adjusting that to allow more time :)

I’ll bring a twelver, someone can have the extra beer cuz I’ll probably only drink 11. :p:Roflmao

I have a friend riding on Saturday who is a good candidate for some Tailwind so I’ll let him know you’ll be there.

Also procrastinating, I usually pay the day of for this event but looks like I’m for sure in.

    Yes!
Please let us know. I think @Voodoo Tom is going to go down to the event with me.

If we get there on time, and that is the plan, I will sponsor the Tailwinds for this event for anyone who signed up on the imtbtrails team and wears the imtbtrails jersey for the race and podium.
