Jennifer and I tied the knot on Valentine's Day and what better way to celebrate than a honeymoon in St. George! I woke up 2:30 Tuesday morning and could not fall back asleep. I knew I would be in trouble if I didn't let Jennifer sleep in until at least 4. I started planning an easy ride that we could do upon our arrival. Left home around 6 a.m. and arrived in St George around 12:30 p.m. we were both a little tired but decided to ride anyways. On the advice of Red Rock Bike Shop we hit Precipice, Sidewinder and finished off with Barrel Roll. Wanted to do around 8 miles but decided to do just a little more. Not a lot of climbing but a lot of constant pedaling and the views are spectacular! Pictures don't do it justice. I will continue to add to this over the next couple of days. Pics from the first ride.20160216_141959-1600x900.jpg 20160216_155446-1600x900.jpg 20160216_145221-1600x900.jpg 20160216_145230-1600x900.jpg 20160216_162500-1600x900.jpg 20160216_162518-1600x900.jpg Screenshot_2016-02-17-06-56-03-1.png

Nice ride. Some great trails in that area. Suicidal tendencies and rim runner are fun

Today we headed over to the Hurricane area. We started off on JEM then connected a small portion of Hurricane Rim to Cryptobionic. Climbed Crypto back to JEM then took that up to Dead Ringer. From here JEM is a one way trail so we took Dead Ringer around to the top of JEM. From there we descended JEM all the way back to the start. There are several wonderful trail networks out here. Not a lot of elevation gain but you're constantly pedaling. I wish we had more time. Weather depending we'll get one more ride in tomorrow.

Today Jennifer wasn't feeling well enough to ride her bike so I suggested that we just be tourists and check out the town. She promptly reminded me that this is an MTB honeymoon. We're here to ride our bikes. She then asked if there was something local (everything here is local!) that she could hike while I rode. I love this woman! I decided today would be a good day to ride Zen Trail. I headed off on two wheels and Jennifer headed out on foot. Pretty tough climb with a lot of square edged rocks to pop up over. But of course as with everything else around here, the higher I got the more incredible the view. Took several wrong turns as I thought I was supposed to be going clockwise. Thankfully I ran into a local who said no counter-clockwise is the way you want to go. Once I was on my way again it was all good. Lots of chunk and a couple more climbs and I was finally at the bottom. Everywhere around here there are vast networks with several different trails that you can hook together to make the ride as long as you want. I love this place! Here are a few pics from today.

Something I have noticed here is Strava doesn't tell the story. It's awesome just to ride the trails.

Nice. Zen is brutal but you are right about the views. The rock formations are awesome. I couldn't get over the "rust" on the rocks at the top.
    Congrats. Have a great time.
