How many times can you do a Ride Report on Golden Eagle?
    Apparently a few more times.
This is just a quick pic and share.

Hit up GE on Saturday with @Voodoo Tom. we were going to hit it up at 9:00am, but then Tom said @Postal Pat was going to show up at 8:30 with some SCV crew. Well... How do you say NO to Postal Pat?!?!?!?

When I pulled up there were already several cars at the trailhead with more showing as I got ready. GE is getting very popular again like back in the 90's!

We ended up riding as a group of 7.
Voodoo Tom, Postal Pat, and 5 others from the SCV group. I say 5 as I think that Postal Pat flipped to his imtbtrails jersey when he saw I was there, ha hah! :sneaky: Sneaky!

I can't remember everyone's name but I know there was Butch, Stephanie, and Adam.
Some had not done the full Golden Eagle out and back so Voodoo and I felt obligated to give the full tour.
I'm really glad we chose to climb the fire road for 2 reasons. 1) It makes it nicer for any early birds flying down the last section back to their cars, plus 2) The wild flowers would be out for pics for @H2oChick!

Cruising climb and fun ride out and back. We did bomb the descents and I think most got great PR's.
Well... except for Postal pat who literally blew his rear wheel apart. Don't think I have ever seen such a destroyed rear wheel on any of my rides ever!
    Here are some pics!

Don't ride your bike on the PCT... but the Forestry can Hire a Contractor to drive Bobcats up and down and across the trail! Uhhh, not that we were riding on the PCT...

At the end of the ride, Tom breaks out a cooler and says he has a present for me! Ahhhh, what a guy!

But when I whooped out the Sixer, to my much surprise!

    Yup! Golden Eagle Trailhead Brew!
Ummm, that is the trailhead in the background to Golden Eagle, and Yummmm! That is the brew in the can that is awesome!

On the way home along Interstate 5, the Tejon Ranch countryside is on fire with California Poppies!

No Pic enhancement here. Just crazy blazin' wildflowers!

Golden Eagle blonde is brewed in Valencia by Wolfcreek brewing company. Had a "boots, brews & bunco" school fundraiser there last night. They brew about a dozen different beers but I stuck with the golden eagle blondes. Apparently 6 or 8 of them will wreck you and that's the reason I didn't ride my bike today.

Hmmm I also got to thinking this Wolfcreek brewery is basically on the far south side of the Tapia trails and could be a potential staging/finishing point for a ride someday.

Sounds like a great day on the bike - love seeing the poppies on the hillside.
Looks like somebody is shopping for either a new wheel or components today
