It's about that time again for the best little race series around to start up at Rim Nordic. I will try to make most of the races and once again racing single speed. Anyone else heading up there?

The course is so much fun to just ride and the group that runs the races are awesome. Lots of fun single track with some good climbs.

I need to look at the Enduro for this more closely. But I'm in an airport right now, which isn't very conducive for investigations.

Good luck Cougar, layers, and a windbreaker (winds look kinda tough which would bother me more than the 45 degrees).

    Thanks!

I'm hoping the winds die down, the wind advisory is supposed to peter out in the middle of the night.

I had a good time out there today! Unfortunately it looks like I can't make two of the three remaining races (the final race is on my eldests BDay), so I can't race the series for the overall. I might go out for the July enduro again, we shall see!

@slomosapien wait..free lunch? I'm in next race... !!!! On our way back last thurs. Me and wifey stopped to grab a flyer at the gate of rim nordic and saddly from my part I can't race nor attend.... Why? My schedule isn't compatible with the race days and I guess you MUST practice on the track before the race, and that is hard for me race/practice

You do NOT have to practice. I rode it for the first time when I raced. I would have been faster on a few sections HAD I practiced, but there is nothing saying you MUST practice before.

I need to get some more single speeds up there for the sport class, I was solo. Pushed hard for a lap to see how long I could hold off my friends starting a minute back then sat up and relaxed on lap two.

Partying till 2 in the morning at the "Like Totaly 80's Festival" the night before was not the best race prep and some dry heaving did happen on the course. I will try to make the next race, this is one of the series I always try to hit up every year.

Is the enduro course pretty tough? I might give one a try but only own hard tails.

No. Stage 3 was the hardest, but it wasn't that technical at all. A few drops/jumps and one steep section to it. But the jumps had routes around to the left (I took one jump, took one to the left), and the steep section could have been rolled straight given the clear runway at the end.

All of the other stages were pretty straight forward. No rock gardens, very little chunk. Mostly loose turning, off camber, semi-alpine singletrack. Was actually an enjoyable course to ride and go fast on. With more practice, I know I could have gone a lot faster :)

I agree with Cougar, anyone can do the Enduro. And yes Singlespeed we need to get more people to attend this series in general.
