It mostly means nothing to me. I cannot fathom that as riding; in my best days I would not take those lines in downhill skiing.
There are different things for different people
I do have a friend that takes his Sprinter out there for a week plus to spectate every year.

The brand is synonymous with free-ride (i.e. extreme riding). They kept a buttery smooth oil and coil fork when everyone else went to sticky, poor performing air forks. Marzocchi were de rigeur in the British Columbia mtb scene. Then they sold out - literally - to a giant Chinese group and the quality and reputation of the forks bottomed out. They came back around 2012 with great forks and wonderful customer service, but no effective marketing, and no OEM spec. Their lead engineers left to create DVO. Marzocchi were bought out by Fox Suspension in 2015. I am surprised that Fox has maintained and even re-kindled the Marzocchi name and found a way to keep the brand alive. Read the reviews of the current Marzfoxxy forks and shocks and they are getting extremely high marks. And they are considerable less expensive than Fox.

It's interesting. In the middle of those raw cliffs, the riders have built highly manicured super-highways of slopestyle stunts to the point where most of the raw "Oh my God I can't believe they are riding down that" has been replaced by "Oh my God, I can't believe he just threw that trick on a groomed jump on the side of a cliff!"

Yeah, it has definitely morphed into something entirely different than what it was when it debuted. It used to be find the hardest/sketchiest line, do minimal work and ride.

Now, like you said....it has become a giant slopestyle event.

It is good to hear that some of the riders are still looking at more creative raw lines.

It doesn't take away from what they are able to pull off....I still can't fathom any of those lines/drops/jumps.

Watching some of the "Fest" events of riding shows that more and more riders are comfortable with the enormous jumps.

From my understanding those purple forks are limited to the riders in this event.

Yes. I actually can't stand the purple color and wouldn't want to buy one. My heart is a-flutter because Marzocchi lives!

For those of us that are lucky enough to sit at work and watch the live stream.

Looking forward to watching. Should be a good event. The weather has been good. Most of the riders finished their lines early and have had time to get in full practice runs. Second year at this location allowed the riders to fine tune and add to the existing lines. Yes, it now very much resembles a slopestyle course. IMO that adds to the pucker factor. Its slopestyle raw! Supposedly a few riders have lines that havent been ridden at all.

I haven't looked at the results yet, and I have no idea how this run stacked up, but leave it to free-racer Brendan Fairclough to make sure to find some gnar to go along with slopestyle tricks. Take a ride with him. Try not to vomit.

OK, now I've seen the top three runs. Truly amazing courage, confidence, composure and skill. From the comments, it looks like I also need to see Andreu Lacondeguy's run. Year after year, that guy seems to go fastest, picks the steepest, gnarliest lines and still throw down insane tricks. His style out there to me is what the event is about. Brendog too. Where the riding is paramount and the tricks are icing on the cake, as opposed to the connected series of stunts that seem to dominate the scoring. Regardless, the level of riding and tricks have gone through the roof.

And one set of purple forks made it into the top three!

His 2nd run was an exercise in how to not die out there.

Once again it was a good watch. Once again the judges voting seem a little skewed. It has turned into a slopestyle event. They seem to care more about the tricks than the speed and difficulty of line choice.

I still give those guys credit for going as big as they do.

Those runs where the rider rides the brakes to slow roll between jumps/drops/the next trick do nothing for me. In fact, it seems to take away from the activity. I like to see the burning fast runs with gigantic air.

Then you are a Brendan Fairclough, Andreu Lacaondeguy fan. Year in, year out Andreu is the fastest, raddest dude out there.

Oh and you might find this hard to believe, but I disagree. Controlling your speed in those conditions is way more impressive than just bombing down out of control. Speed-control-gnar-style-flow- those are my criteria. Actually, I think we do agree on speed and flow. If a rider stalls too long, it does ruin the flow.

Click the link below. I can't find a YouTube of Andreu's 2019 runs to embed. If this doesn't blow your mind, I will give you double your money back. (@mtnbikej posted the same thing above)

This one is interesting. The first part is fast-forward so you can see where he made a mistake on run 1, then there's full POV for run 2, and it is literally dizzying. Take a Dramamine and enjoy!
