I did this ride last Sunday but never got around to posting a RR. I'm out of action with a stubborn cold today and I got nothing else to do so why not wrestle with the computer and post it now:confused:! It was a cool 39 degrees at the start with a couple inches of snow in the shade so I was anticipating real good snow conditions up higher on the trail. But my hopes were dashed as I made the climb:(! The snow never was deeper than 2", had already melted in the sunny sections and on the way to the Chair, was trampled by the 3 dozen or so hikers that beat me to the trails:mad:! Still a fun stretch of trail with good traction despite the hiker interruptions.

The Burkhardt section was better. Less snow since it's a bit lower but only one hiker so I almost got first tracks:thumbsup:! It was a great ride but could have been better with a bit more snow. The consolation prize was hero dirt where the snow had melted:)! Here's the pics.

Love that slide to lay-down pic. Intentional, or aftermath?

Intentional. It's a fun way to end the great downhill before the suffering of climbing back up the trail! I did that section with Mikie and Voodoo Tom a few weeks ago. Lots of HAB on that both up and down!

To me, it looks like the bars dug in = aftermath.

I believe the mark you see is from the front tire.

Look closely. There are two marks in the front - one from the tire, and a smaller one from the bars.

Wow! Some of you super sleuths have trust issues:cautious:! So I'm gonna mess with you a bit:sneaky:! The picture has plenty of clues to prove my slide was intentional so get out the magnifying glass and try again:laugh:!

I've ridden with @Maddog plenty of times and he's never come close to crashing, so I'm guessing roost. Nice RR by the way...

I'm gonna say he pre-ran it. That was the result of the second take. MD is a careful dood!

Staged Skidiots are OK. MD does enough trailwork to know, he probably went back over it with a rake.....

Ok, I'll let you guys get some sleep tonight; especially with the time change:sleep:. @UPSed gets the Inspector Clueseau prize! Completely intentional with a rear and a front wheel roost:thumbsup:! Used to call this a "Brodie" back in the day when we'd slide our paper boy bikes and sting rays in the desert:cool:! What some think is a bar dig is where I planted my foot at the end. I thought it would make a good pic so I moved the bike over a bit so y'all could appreciate the whole slide. Bar never hit the dirt until I set the bike down. Done on the first take but I have done the same thing at the end of this trail probably 100 times! No trail work needed as this is wide, flat and sandy. The rain probably has filled it in by now so I can do it again the next time:p!
