Thinking about doing a quick weekend trip to Prescott. Are there any techy trails that can be shuttled? I'm going with my wife who doesn't bike and I'm a slow climber. I could maximize our time there if I find a good trail or group of trails that could be shuttled and give me an hour of downhilling.

Gotta save my legs for hiking around with the wife the rest of the weekend. Perfect excuse to avoid climbing.

Tech trails in Prescott are rare. Shuttles in Prescott are rare. Great Point to point rides. Prescott in known for miles of flowing narrow buff singletrack that is ready made for singlespeeding. You can get dropped off on Spruce Mountain and ride Smith Ravine back down to Walker Road that is slightly tech and mostly downhill. Very hard to find is West Spruce Trail that is a screamer downhill to Dosie Pit. Prescott uses trail numbers and not trail names on their maps so it has always been confusing for me as I go by trail names not numbers.

<a class="postlink" href="http://prescott-trailmaps.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://prescott-trailmaps.com/</a> click on the grid to expand the map. Trails and jeep roads are in green.

Prescott has a 50 mile loop (circle) trail that circles the town. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.prescott-az.gov/_d/trails/prescott_circle_trail_map.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.prescott-az.gov/_d/trails/pr ... il_map.pdf</a> the west, south and east sections are great the north section is just a connector not worth riding.

If you want freeriding Prescott has the best bike park around at Willow Dells slickrock Park. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.cityofprescott.net/services/parks/trails/?id=45" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.cityofprescott.net/services/ ... ils/?id=45</a> bring armor you will need it. You will not be able to ride faster than your wife can walk so I think this is your best bet. Willow Loop Trail <a class="postlink" href="http://www.prescott-az.gov/_d/trails/willow_dells_slickrock_trail_loops_map.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.prescott-az.gov/_d/trails/wi ... ps_map.pdf</a>

The true kore downhill's are on Mingus Mountain East of town but this time of the years ice/snow would be a major bummer. Enjoy Prescitt is a great town.
