Should be plenty of open places. Summer is easier to get around than winter so location isn’t as critical. I’ve got a place up there, never stayed anywhere else so can’t help with specifics.

I was thinking about SkyPark, but they are doing an event this entire weekend, and it looks like it might be crazy crowded.

I might do SkyLine instead. It will be three weeks off the bike for me if I am able to ride Saturday ... had an event a couple of weeks ago, and randomly hurt my shoulder last Saturday, old age style. I really hope I can ride this weekend.

Gonna climb wilson. September 1st, tomorrow leaving at 7am from the jpl parking lot. Whoever wants to ride, look for a tall guy with a grey/orange procaliber. I'll be circling around the parking lot waiting for friends and whoever wants to ride. Or PM and I'll shoot you my number.

I may "like" that.. but that ain't right

For anyone that hasn't done the climb from Baldy Village up to the ski lifts hard enough in a car awesome on a bike road bike with low gears can be tip over Central.

Awesome ride though you're probably out there right now have safe rides

During this tour you will pass all the interesting spots such as the charming Jordaan quarter, the Anne Frank house, the Rijksmuseum, the Vondelpark, the “Skinny Bridge” and the Red Light District.

 

Anyone want to ride September 3rd, tomorrow? Loch Leven, SART, radford and 7 oaks are on the menu. I want to do the backside of the grizzly 100 course. Earlier the better for me. Starting at 7am but we can decide where to start from

I hit the trail at 6, which I know is only an hour before closing, but the place was DEAD. I would guess maybe 10 people riding. So, as per usual, if you wait out the rush the park slows down in the evening and the weather is still perfect.

 

Labor Day, tomorrow, Monday. 3 points , silver Moc , Chilao sweetness. Leaving my place at 7, meet there about 8:20. At Newcomes restaraunt.

Did Skyline in Big Bear today! Awesome as usual. Met Rocket ron up there, and ninja Don and I rode up together. Perfect weather, cool breezes. Crossed paths with about 3-4 small groups of mtbikers, several hikers spread out on the trail. No mechanicals, I had a minor front tire slip and rubbed up against a couple of rocks. Coming down Plumbers was excellent as usual!
18.5, 2200 ft.

It was a little warm on the climbs but once you got moving the heat wasn't felt. Cool breezes, sandy/dry as usual, radford was loose but felt easier than the last two times. Tough as hell but I complained a lot less this time than the last two haha. MY 7 oaks run was near perfect (still dragging brakes and braking too much on corners). Just felt good out there! I ran into about 6 bikers. Most of them on skyline and one on SART

 

Thanks for the details! I'm trying to talk people into doing something similar as a bike-packing route, and will use your feedback to bolster the case!!!

Sunday: commuted to work and back.
Saturday: Roadie century with a group of friends, then a few laps at Skypark before watching Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.
