Thanks! I’ve been exhibiting at the Laguna Beach festival of Arts since 97, had a lot more luck until about 8 years ago. Gotta find a better venue now I guess.

That’s exactly what it is according to my strange neighbor although I have no idea what that is... He’s got two college aged kids and I guess I’m old.

Not the Horseshoe Meadows Stage Race? Hell of a climb, but my long-term memory's still intact enough to recall the Death Valley to Mt. Whitney race.

Started out at Stovepipe Wells and Day 1 rode over Townes and Panamint passes, then through rollers to Lone Pine. Day 2 mucked around in the Alabama Hills a bit and then climbed to Whitney Portal. 100 miles total. 13,000+ elevation gain? I had a friend in Mammoth who rode his trainer in a basement all winter to be ready for this thing in May. I had different priorities and did about 3 training rides then enjoyed a maximum suffering effect hard to explain to non-roadies. The ride back down from the Portal is sobering.

Umm.. Tahoe? I heard the Mountaineer's Route is rideable.

And "East and South of Whitney" feels weak. But Horseshoe Meadows IS a helluva climb-- 6,000 feet of gain from the valley floor to 10,000 feet-- so from that standpoint it's even higher than Whitney (trailhead-wise). "Lone Pine Challenge?"
