I see that some are now using dropper post on gravel bikes, too. Are there suspension forks being applied to gravel bikes now, as well?

You haven't been paying attention to Ed's wonder bike... It has suspension on the front.

That Niner came out a year or two ago... I've seen one in person, and it's fugly.

 

That fork doesn't require service intervals does it?

 

My whole point is, we are going to see some skinny version of Fox and RS suspension forks specifically designed for gravel bikes, any day now...

 

The fork on the Lauf has 30mm of unsprung travel and does not require any service. I believe that the MCR uses a Fox 32 with 40mm of travel.
IMO, dropper posts do not belong on gravel bikes but some people like to try and make their gravel bikes perform like mountain bikes.

 

Their RLT e9 is even fuglier.

Foe already has a short travel gravel fork. Or it was in prototype form. Something dumb like 40mm of travel.

That seems too bulky for a sleek gravel bike. I foresee something much less substantial coming in the future.

I can't answer that. Maybe 2015 Mikie was not as savvy as 2020 Mikie. I'm more concerned with the fact that 5 years went by and it seems like yesterday.

But... I went through the original Trailhead thread and found the point where it turned into a ride report. I moved all the subsequent posts into a new thread in the Ride Reports sub-forum. I didn't see any nukes overhead, so I think it went according to plan.
