Pets are people, too

Lol, that's what got us. We had no intention of getting a cat. We went in to Petco by our house and they had a shelter there with a bunch of kittens. She just kind of stared at us as we walked by and just thought she was adorable. The lady took her out and it was over. She was so chill and mild mannered. Even her first visit to the vet, he was surprised at how well tempered she was. He flipped her over and examined her and rubbed her tummy and not a peep. Even to this day, with a dog, two young kids and everything else, I've only ever heard her hiss a few times and only when she gets caught off guard or scared from something. She's truly one of the best animals I've ever owned. She's super friendly, loves people, chills on the couch or in bed with us and most of all puts up with the kid's 'affection' towards her.

 

Heartwarming! You guys really scored a nice one. The vet test is the ultimate...wow! (It took two vet personnel plus me to take an ear swab from my little girl.) Enjoy your time with that beautiful gal. Props for having a big heart and making her a lucky cat.

 

We've never had a barker... Until our latest addition. This little device saved my sanity and I'm sure the neighbors also appreciate it. After a couple days, she was a completely different dog.

Dirt cheap on Amazon. It's humane... One loud bark will make it beep. Two loud barks make it beep and vibrate for a few seconds.

 

We have had our guy for a little over a year now. We did not crate train so have lost a shoe or two here and there but a good dog.

It took a while for Benny to be comfortable after we rescued him. He feels totally at home now.

I’m not sure why I’m posting this. Like, I really want to depress the rest of you right? I guess maybe to attempt to purge the pain out of my own self some. Yesterday it was time for Velcro to jump across the rainbow bridge...

Sorry to hear Mikie. I think you're probably posting it because folks here genuinely care, and can relate. Sorry for your loss. And what a great name. I can probably guess how that came about.

 

RIP Velcro. You made the world a better place by bringing years of love and smiles to mom & dad.

 

The weez and I are very sorry for your loss, Mikie and Cathy.

You know we were there just one year ago, brother Mikie. I'd like to say that time heals all, but when you love then lose someone, on some level, the void stays with you forever. As it should. They were a part of your life, part of you. Thanks for making Velcro one lucky cat – you're a fine example of how that's done. Namaste.

Sorry to hear about Velcro....

This is our little rescue that found us over 5 years ago now. She's almost 12 and a whopping 9.5lbs.

 

What a great name! Thanks for posting even if it isn't something any of us really want to confront. The love of a pet is one of the awesome - and at times awful - parts of being human. May Velcro Run in Peace! Who am I kidding. Cat's don't want peace, they want to hunt!

My puppy hasn't quite got her human trained yet. He still leaves valuable items within reach. Last week it was the wife's iron cord.

 

Well, he is doing a respectable job, which I’m sure she takes into consideration.


The circus here rolls on...

 

We got this collar for our 11 month pup, he's had it on since Friday and is just about over his obnoxious barking. Only had the beeper go off, never the vibration. When it goes off he stops and looks behind him and sniffs the floor. Not sure what he's expecting to find just from a beep
Anyway, thanks Faust for the tip, we were getting desperate.
