Sorry to hear. We put our 14 year old black tri down in January.
He was the best dog I’ve ever had, and a great MTB dog.
It sucks, but it was the best decision for Loki.
My condolences.

We were not planning on another Aussie (ok, I was, but she had other ideas) but he came up - another family adopted him, he was too much dog for them.
A working breed AS - skinnier and long legged. No double coat.

 

congrats, cute pooches, how old do you think they are? Sure they will love you immensely and do anything for you for giving them a good home.

 

Man these dogs leave a hole in our hearts when they have to go. So hard to be the one to make the call, too, I've had to do that twice in the past 12 years, and was a complete wreck for days/weeks, and still think about how hard it was. But gotta know they are in a better pain free place. Hope you are able some day to get another, if it's right for you (personally I think that's what they would want)

Thank ya sir! Who knows for sure... they’re suppose to be Cattldog, Lab, Bull Terrier mixes. You just never know w rescues! I’ll take ideas tho!

When I had shoulder surgery last year Rusty took on a noticeably different vibe in the days immediately following my surgery. Whereas he's usually super affectionate and snuggly (he curls up on my lap on the couch) he instead stayed by my side, but not actually on me. He would nap, but was often at attention, and was extra barky and growly at outside noises. I theorized that he could smell the fresh wound, and went into a sort of protective mode. Today when I got home from surgery he came bounding up like he always does, but after a couple seconds he got a bit more inquisitive and wasn't wagging his tail as much. When I sat down on the couch he immediately hopped up and started smelling around my knee. He has held this position for most of the day, staying by my side, but not climbing on me like he usually does. Rusty has my back.
