I rode the Big Bike category at last nights OTH race. You guys heard of that? Bike must meet 1/3 stipulations:
    30lbs +
    6in travel +
    2.8 tires +

New course is pretty sweet. Solid jump lines and legit berms. May wanna check it out.

Over the Hump has always looked interesting, and like something I'd like to do. No way I can make it out there on time, though.

I had to unsubscribe from their emails (musta been from participating in CC) though, because they're annoyingly too much. Dudes, give it a rest already.

Ooooh, my bike fits one of those categories!:)

Unfortunately, I think OTH still involves pedaling uphill, which will put me in last place, so... :(

Oh and yeah, I leave work between 6 and 8 most nights, so...

Tonight's race postponed to next week due to smoke and the fire. I might go ride Whiting or something. I might sit on my butt.

Tonight's Race Postponed to Next Week

    Hey Race Family,

It's with heavy hearts that we have to consider the affect of the most recent OC Riverside Fire. Many of our friends, trails, homes, wildlife and California fire authority are directly impacted. Our hearts and prayers are with you.

WE HAVE POSTPONED THIS WEEK'S RACE EXTENDING THE FINALE TO AUGUST 28.
    94a322f3-35df-4d2f-acef-a70b88ea8490.jpe

Smokey haze is hanging around Santa Ana Mountains

Please help us tell your friends and co-workers: we are attempting to reach everyone via email and social networks, but if you could help and email your friends and share on social networks of your own that would be hugely helpful.

NEXT RACE WILL BE TUESDAY AUGUST 14...AND WE'VE EXTENDED THE SEASON BY ONE WEEK TO INCLUDE THE NEW FINALE DATE OF TUESDAY AUGUST 28.

    WHY?

Based on air quality concerns and the ongoing nature of the Holy Fire that stated in Trabuco yesterday we have taken into consideration racer health and awesome race experience. While looking at the forecast, and the partially contained fire we thought we "might be able to race", BUT there are multiple factors. The most of which is important to us as Rider Safety.

When Matt asks the kids weekly what the 2 rules for Over the Hump are, they quip: "Have Fun", and "Be Safe". While we want the 2nd rule to come back as "Be Nice", it remains part of our core to take care of you. We don't want anyone to feel compelled to race in compromised air quality. We don't know that the prevailing winds will do with the smoke this afternoon, however what we do know is we want everybody to be safe and enjoy Over the Hump.

    CHANGES THAT AFFECT YOU:

EXTENDING THE FINALE TO AUGUST 28. (WE'LL STILL HAVE 12 races -6 for the Beginner and Intermediate Racers)

IF YOU REGISTERED FOR TONIGHTS RACE, WE WILL AUTOMATICALLY CREDIT YOU TO THE FINALE ON TUESDAY AUGUST 28...(if you prefer we change your race to another one of the additional 3 weeks we will be happy to make the change, simply send a note to info@raceoth.com and we'll gladly change it.)

Isn't the "Felt" Ladies Night a little politically incorrect in today's #metoo world???

So I signed up for the "Big Bike" classes hoping to finally find a group that will make me look good. ......... (Isn't this the real reason there are so many classes).

    Failed again!

    Race report:
    5 participant.
    2 that are too fast
2 that are slower than me.
The "race" was over after about 45 sec.
I rode the rest of the hour chasing slow riders form the other categories.
    The course was entertaining.
The setting sun was brutal at some of the single track turns.
I got my OTH beer glass for 2018......... all is good.

Probably, just as the E-bike race was. That's why we are grass roots, politically incorrect racing :p
