The Onion is a satirical web site that creates humorous fake news stories based sometimes on what is happening in the country, and sometimes based solely on fantasy. I found the above video amusing and had not seen it before even though it is a little dated. I thought it would be fun to share it with the people on this site. Clearly @Cornholio works for some government agency responsible for maintaining the Folsom dam, and was not amused. To the extent that I offended him personally, I apologize.

I truly am just messing around when I post these silly videos. I am not trying to make any kind of political statement or anything. I just laughed when I saw it, and wanted to share. And just because I argue with someone doesn't mean that I hate them. I have three sisters and I argue with them all the time... but we are really close.

I was BBQing this weekend and while getting the coals ready an errant piece of Kingsford briquet dropped on the ground and I stepped on it with my bare foot. You know when you get a bad burn and you can literally feel your skin burning? That was me. Fortunately the blister is only about the size of a quarter. No running or biking for me for a few days.

 

I for one, am of low intelligence. I am a mountain biker, after all, and I have rattled my brain hard in crashes on numerous occasions over the years, surely causing some degree of dain bramage. So, for those mountain bikers who have crashed hard and continue to maintain high intelligence, I solute you.

 

Where are the RRs from Pisgah and all the other choice Carolina venues? Splinter members have a responsibility here, ya know.

If I had a hot rod pontoon in my back yard it might take me a sec to get to some ride reports as well. Springtime in the Western NC mountains is pretty magical though.

 

So it’s prime season for MTB out there right about now, and still not one pic of a trail? Save the water for when it’s too hot/humid to ride. Or at least give us a link to the reports posted on the boating sites...

My bikes are all still in California. However I think we may have sold the house and may be heading back there in a week to move our stuff. Time will tell. We have to fit it in between a global pandemic and national rioting

The state parks were all closed until two weekends ago. I have a state park with a lot of trails just 3 miles from my house. I drove over just to look at all the mountain bikers in the parking lot! Soon I will be there!
