I’d love one of those! My brother’s was gold... And he never shut it off. Ever...

Aside from the exposed fuel lines that froze constantly, it was awesome... The last we heard of it years ago, it was still going with somewhere near 800,000 miles.

I never had a 4-door pickup until my current one. It's pretty damn sweet; utility and road comfort. Enjoy it!

Nice truck! Butt coolers eh, does it have autopilot?

I had a couple gen 1 Sciroccos and a Rabbit 4 door in high school and college. Miles ahead of most anything smallish from detroit at the time, and fairly reliable.

    Congrats Steve! Enjoy!
My first truck was an '05 Nissan Titan. I couldn't believe how smooth and quiet it was. Jennifer's 2011 Titan was even more refined. Her 2015 Tundra is unbelievably smooth, quiet and comfortable not to mention the power it puts out. Pickup trucks have come a long way.

Thanks, Guys... It's a nice world we live in when we have the ability to choose a vehicle partly on how well it will haul bikes. And it may get the chance soon... Koko is coming up fast.

Like most of you guys, I've owned a few trucks over the years. Some were really interesting... Like the 77 Dodge with manual everything, a slant 6, and 3 on the tree. The broken cab mount made it one of a kind! If I drove through the ditch in front of my house, it would snap back into place and hold for a few miles. :D

Or maybe the 1980 step side Chevy that my Dad gave me... Also 3 on the tree, but the linkage had a nasty habit of getting stuck when trying to go from first to second. That required a stop- usually in the middle of on intersection. Pop the hood and snap the arms back into alignment... :D

It's crazy how far they've come...

@knucklebuster - We were pretty set on a full size after trying a couple mid-sized trucks, but this one may have changed my mind. I wish they'd bring it to the US...

Hmmm. Didn't see that coming. Amarok. Really? Another high quality name from VW to complement Touareg and Tiguan. Their model names just roll right off the tongue. o_O

I had one of the first '04 Titans.....Nice truck....kept it 10 years/188k miles. Did drive smooth like a car and had a nice tight turning radius. The piss poor fuel economy is what eventually drove me in the Eco Diesel.

That's probably the best color description I've seen... It's definitely dark blue, but there is a hint of gray.

The rest of the world can still drive TDIs in their VWs, Porsches, and Audis... We'd be stuck with the gas versions.

I was actually able to squeeze 20-21 mpg out of my Titan on long highway trips. The Tundra on the other hand is lucky to see 17 mpg downhill with a tailwind. Jennifer averages 13 mpg around town and she drives with a lead foot.

By the time I got rid of the Titan, I was getting about 10-11 mpg around town....I could bump it to about 14-15 on the fwy.

My Eco Diesel gets 22 mpg without even trying around town.

Haha, I still have to do that on the Bronco every now and then. Usually I can get the shift arms back in sync by messing with the column shifter, but it's a bit awkward when them fancy trucks want you out of their way and you can't get it in gear :)
Good looking truck. Next thing you know they'll be selling a Cadillac Pickup :sneaky:

And since we're talking about old trucks (sorry for derail), I saw this bumper sticker on our dog walk this morning.

Who cares about the ass coolers...how does it ride, how dependable is it, and can you get there from here.

That reminds me of my Blazer... No ass coolers in that one, but it was an awesome truck! My oldest was little at the time, but he was trained to reach into the mud to lock the front hubs! The younger one looked out for gators. :D

I think the granny gear in that thing would have pulled a house... :D
