Looks like the group was at Water Works yesterday. Those vehicles are pretty capable, but with at least 5 HP would be classified as motorcycles AFAIK.

OK, last post about these which IMO are a threat; the latest I saw had a 134 Volt battery, weighed 100 pounds and could travel 50+ mph.

It’s only a matter of time before one of these knuckleheads kills somebody…

I wonder… Has there been any decrease in the Saurons (sp?) in that area since the hit and run? Any more enforcement?

I've never seen a Sur Ron (so ?), and AFAIK Luna Cycles in LA was the sole supplier until recently. However, these behemoths are motorcycles (I think) and under the laws of the NHTSA, so should have the appropriate safety features and whatever else is required.

So, that's what things are called?
Found a Canadian website for them. Either this or a near clone I see everywhere in South OC. Mostly 12-15 year old kids it seems.
I see them going to school, racing up and down streets, and tearing it up on the regional trails.
Mostly with the typical e-biker (non) etiquette.

It’s Surron and those things are pretty sick. My co worker has one and it is a blast to ride. He put in a huge battery and some sort of power controller to tune the motor.

The Sur Rons have been around for at lest a couple of years and (I think) can be classified as mopeds even though they have footpegs, not pedals. The ones I'm referring to are EUC's (electric unicycles).
