    Hey all,

    I'm an intermediate level rider with 4 years of experience. I've been living in the South Bay for almost 10 years and I'm in my late 20s. I typically ride in OC/Laguna, Pasadena, and sometimes Simi Valley and SkyPark. It's quite the commitment to drive at least an hour each way for good trails, which I've been doing a long time now! Been getting burned out, so I'm really eager to find a decent trail in my area.

    I live very close to the Porteguese Bend trails in PV, but as you know the absurd amount of hikers ruins it for me. I have to believe there are good places to ride in PV given how much open land there is. I would be eternally grateful if anyone can take me out and ride! Cheers.

    Maybe @Luis can guide a trip around Sullivan/Yates/Chaney/Backbone. Its been so long since I've done that one I don't remember all the turns.

    Hi from Bakersfield!!

    I was just up at Del Carro park Two weeks ago and it looks like the hikers ran off all the bikers. Don't get me started on the parkng nightmare.

    Welcome @crustpizza now lets have a beer. Don't get burned out bud, if you have to drive places to get to the goods then so be it. I've got trails almost out my front door but I get bored easy so it's pretty much normal for me to drive an hour or two every weekend just to mix it up.

    Welcome welcome @crustpizza! Just as long as your total ride time equals or exceeds your total drive time, it's all good, right? Of course that means at least a 4-hour commitment for trails 1 hour away.

    Hang in there and hopefully some of the other fellas and fellettes can chime in about some local routs on the PVP if there are any. Cheers!

    All the mountain biking is at the Del Cerro Park area. You can start at the top at the park or the bottom in Portuguese Bend area like the OP stated. Mostly road biking in the area.
