    I ride all the bikes!
Feels like I waited forever to get this b*tch rolling.
My last bike was an Anthem Adv SX, 120/100mm. This year they revamped the standard Anthem with 120/110mm suspension, a carbon trunnion suspension rocker arm and slightly more aggressive goemetry. The only thing I had ever wanted more of the old bike was a bit more rear travel, for the likes of Car Wreck and other trails that go bump in the night... So the 2017 sounded perfect- order placed.

I have about 50 miles on it and it's delivering on what I had hoped- a quick trail bike that likes to be ridden off the back wheel, that can pull double duty as a an XC racer or be pushed into all mountian duties. My type of bike.

    Giant Anthem Advanced .5

XT groupo- sort of. XTR shifter and derailluer upgrade.
34 chainring, from the stock 32. 11-46 cassette.

Carbon Renthal Fatbar cut to 760mm.
    ODI Troy Lee Grips
Answer 60mm +/- 0 stem (in the mail)
Crank Brothers Highland dropper paddle switch (best bang for the buck upgrade ever)
    Fox Factory Fork.
Enve 60/40 wheels, with sweet matchie matchie stickers. ;)
    Enve h20 cage

Schwalbe Knobby Nic (f), Rocket Ron (r)

I think I'm going to be pretty happy with it as it stands, a new seat maybe and potentially a factory rear shock when available... maaaaaaybe even a Rock Shox Super Deluxe w/ piggy back. Will see if I feel like I need that often enough to pay for it. :O

@shawndoh am I reading this right? Your new Anthem has 10mm more rear suspension travel than your old Anthem Adv? That's not a lot - so it's mostly the geometry that is different?

Also, is this the bike you were on when we rode a few weeks ago?

Beautiful bike - definitely on the XC side of the equation, but it doesn't seem to hamper you any on the downs.

I rode a Trance last ride Chris.
True 10mm is not ton, but it's just that extra I wanted. The geo is a sublte change too, HT angle now at 68, from 68.5, seat tube is a degree and a half change, shorter chain stays, longer top tube. They really brought the bike more in line with current trends. A bit more aggressive.

Good looking machine Shawn, know you've been waiting on the wheels for awhile. Almost hate to ask, how much does it weigh (sub 25?)

Nice ride! I've often thought about losing the Tranny and Mojo HD3 and replacing them with a tweener bike that could do both, but I always seem to come back to N+1. Maybe I should just add a shorter travel bike to the garage.........

I'll weight it tomorrow, probably... based on my old bike, it should be the high side of 25.

  10. Looks fun. Enjoy!!!!

And are you telling me it's possible to ride car wreck with anything less than 150cm travel????? Get outta here you must be tough as nails!!!!!
