    Not being a Soch!
My modem died last night. Long story, but I have to have the service provider come out to replace the proprietary modem.
Then, I found out the modem was manufactured by Specialized!

Just kidding! Service "should" be restored on Thursday.
Have I told you lately NEVER get Wildblue internet service...

    MODEM On!

    Wish it was that simple...:(
Living in the sticks limits options for internet. I have to use a Satellite Internet Service Provider as there is no Cable or DSL within my area. So I have a dish on my roof. Everybody on the planet (except WildBlue) would simply ship out a replacement Modem. Hughes.net, Dish Network, Direct TV, etc... In fact with those companies you have to beg them to send out a technician when required. Not WildBlue! They will not ship any equipment to you directly. It has to go to a Service Rep who must make a House Call, and that House Call is $95.00 bucks! I told them they could shove it. In talking with a manager, she stated I could go on their "EasyCare" package paying $5.99 per month "in case" I need a service call which would waive the service call fee. I told them they could shove that as well. Then she stated I could go on EasyCare, waive the $95.00 Technician fee, then cancel EasyCare after 90 days, but I would not be eligible for EasyCare for up to 180 days.

So instead of $95.00 it will cost me $18.00 if I maneuver that direction which is the route I took. Unfortunately, WildBlue does have the best connection service sine I moved the Forum to a new server. I just found out that Dish Network uses WildBlue as their Internet Service in their Bundle Packages. Dish Network has excellent Customer Service, so I may try switching to them....
