I am pleased to report that some most excellent tickets have been scored to Foreigner ,WITH LOU GRAHAM!
This band I have regretted that I never saw. Going to change that, and thankful for this most excellent opportunity! Orchestra pit seats have been had.:)

Orchestra pit... so I’m guessing the Hollywood Bowl?
    Congrats!

I have seen Foreigner in concert. I liked them!
Small world, there used to be a guitar specialist that lived right behind my Mom’s. I think his name was Davey Wolf. He would be the guy hired to go on tour with a band to build/repair/maintain the guitars. Lou Graham was always hanging out at his house. I never saw him or met him, but my redneck brother has.

Going to be at the Microsoft Theater, I’ve never been there, I hope it’s a good place to see them.

    Lou Graham. Lyricist extraordinaire.

I'm hot blooded. Check it and see. Got a fever of 103. C'mon baby do you do more than dance? I'm hot blooded...

You don't have to read my mind, to know what I have in mind. I gotta know, what you're doing, after the show...

Tell me, are you hot momma, you sure look that way to me...

    Sooooooooo..... good?

Absolutely. Consider the amazing use of metaphor in this "nugget..."

"You're digging for gold, you're throwing away, a fortune in feelings but someday you'll pay!"

I see what you did there, Mr. Graham. Brilliant!

One of my favorite all time songs! The hole thing is brilliant with an ambiance all it’s own, I get lost in it every time.

    I knew the moment
    I walked through that door
I felt so close to a burning sensation
    It got so warm
As I moved across the floor
    My body aching with anticipation
I saw a dark silhouette at the table
I tried to talk, but I was unable
She drew me in right under her spell
I was hypnotized by the sudden temptation
Of that woman in black, she's a mystery
She's everything a woman should be
Woman in black, she's got a hold on me
She's in control, she won't set me free
    She is a woman
    She's not a girl anymore
The kind that stirs up a young man's imagination
    She's dressed to kill
And I'm so ready to fall
Into her world full of strange fascination
I see that dark silhouette at the table
    I can't resist, my body's not able
She draws me in, but she teaches me well
    I never need any explanation
From that woman in black, she's a mystery
She's everything a woman should be
I said, woman in black, got a hold on me
She's in control, she won't set me free
    Ooh, woman in black
    It's too late now
    I can't turn back
'Cause I'm a fool for that woman
    Woman in black
    Ooh, ooh, woman in black
Ooh, woman in black, she's a mystery
She's everything a woman should be
That woman in black, she's got a hold on me
She's in control, she won't set me free
    She's my mysterious mistress
But she leaves me so helpless
    My woman in black
    She's a dark senorita
    My woman in black
    No Sunday school teacher
    My woman in black
We're seeing and keeping it a secret
    We meet in the night
    We're partners in silence
    Strangers in daylight

Last chance! Might still be tickets left, get it before it goes away? Tom Petty comes to mind.

Actually Foreigner has a song called Love Doctor, much rather listen to that. Kiss is a poser band.

Gonna see The Allen Prarson Project tomorrow night at the Lancaster Performing Arts Center, the place seats a whopping 750 people. Not a bad seat in the house! Saw David Spaid last week, he was just ok. :)

    Hey, I don’t blame you.
Anyway I was pleasently surprised at just how really good they are! So much good talent came out of my (our) era, Vocals were great, and musicianship my wife thought was right up there with Toto.

    I need a walk-up song. No - really.

We were prompted to identify what we would select as our walk-up song if we had such a thing in my line of work, or I guess if we were big league ball players. Wow - I can't think of anything that has a cool hook that would get energy up, but would also be representative of my belief system and be appropriate for work and have a title that conveys the meaning.

I thought of Believer - by Imagine Dragons - but it's a bit dark. I actually see it as triumphant, and standing up for the alienated.

Or Who's With Me by USS, great, uplifting lyrics, but I don't want to give the wrong impression with the line "Don't try to paint my rainbow gray..." Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I also thought of "Time to Go" by Dropkick Murphys, but it's a little too specific (Boston Bruins) and my rival school is Black and Gold, so I don't think "Go, Go, Black and Gold" would be widely appreciated.

I need something that says - "I believe in the power of collective energy" or something like that. Or - "We've got this" or "You matter" or "Treat each other with kindness" or "we've got your back..." or other such sentimental stuff - but it has to have a kick ass attention getting riff/hook.

    Whachu got?

I think Stacy's Mom by Fountains of Wayne - complete with its video - may be exactly what is needed here. ORRRRRR, maybe not.
