I know the idea of starting at 10 am AND taking a shuttle is repellant but this is a great day of riding. The finish of Middle Merrill to Mt Lowe to Sunset Ridge is crazy, ridiculous fun with chunk, a bunch of smaller drop and a little exposure thrown in to make things exciting. As I mentioned above, you do 5-6 drops and all of the runs are "enduro" in nature. Not a whole lotta "fast n' flowy" here but there is a little on one of the runs up high.

I can sum it up this way, I've ridden on many places and the day we did this Enduro Tour in 2016 was one of my top 5 days ever on a bike. It was one of those days where everybody has a small on their face at the end and says "I can't wait to do that again" before you even get in your car to drive home.

You sign up online and it's $55 pp for the day.

Do they have an 8A.M start time? That will put us in the heat of the day!

I got to cheat... I followed the one and only @ridinrox down Middle Merrill... She seemed to know where she was going. I might still be up there on the steel hardtail, otherwise. :p And that was the day that @Tom the Bomb went over the side on the upper section. Damn scary!

@mtbMike - Great post up. I'm sure you'll get some riders to go along on that one.

I didn't see it occur but my buddy went off the edge (and bruised some ribs in the process) on the Middle Merrill section last time we rode out there in February.

It used to be an 8 am start time....not good for us that have to drive from San Diego but we always made it on time. It may be hot but at least we're going DH 95% of the time.

I believe all the shuttling will be off of Highway 2. Should be a bit cooler up there too.

pretty awesome downhilling... lots of exposure... never wear pads but I think I will wear some next time... went a month or so ago.. washy... sketchy fun..

That's the tour we did in February....1st drop was on the Darkside which was a blast but has a TON more climbing and craploads of hikers (as in hundreds) on the final descent on that side. You then get picked up and dropped at the tunnel for run #2. On **THIS** Enduro Tour, most of the runs are above that area and the last run of the day is at the tunnel. There are a few options down from there but we did Mt Lowe/Merrill/Sunset Ridge which combined might be one of my favorite rides ever. If you put that ride in a dense forest like Downieville with Oregon dirt, it would be nirvana!!!

If I lived up there close by....or even didn't have to deal with gridlock traffic on the I-5 going home every time, I'd have a season pass with them and ride up there 3-4 times a month. It's that good. We're driving 110 miles each way though so we need to get in as many rides as possible and the Enduro Tour is the best way to do that.

I'd like to join this one. I've done the single run shuttle once and it was a great time.

Click on 'Mountain Bike Shuttles' on the top menu and then the Enduro Tour you want will be in the upper left hand corner....obviously you need to adjust the date for Sept 8th.
