Posted up a ride search and not much action so threw out a text to the locals and Pete, Grego and Vincent took the bait! I suggested an upside down lollipop loop at SART and Greg suggested a shuttle he had done that started at South fork and ended on highway 38 at the base of the fireroad to Morton Peak. 25 Miles 1600 feet of Elevation and 20 miles of epic Singletrack. We would get it all. Pete had not been riding much so this was a no brainer. I connected with my local Shuttle driver,
$50.00 later we were at South Fork suiting up in 55 degree weather and bluebird skies, Yeeeeees! Great call Greg! We whooped and swooped it all the way to Middle control road had a bar and climbed up to the Post office. On the way we ran into Xavier , Paul and Chris doing trail work removing trees and trimming branches. We helped out a bit and then moved on. I understand Crazybear is going to be running shuttles up there regularly through the summer. I do believe they were going to brush the area behind the Post office too. Good thing cause we got bush wacked and slapped quite a bit as we hauled the mail to the fireroad. We stopped there for a quick bite before heading down to the car and Greg's bionic ears hear a hissing sound. I got a sidewall cut just as we were finishing the Singletrack. I pumped it up a couple times hoping Stans would seal but no luck. Pete pulls out a tire plug kit . We stuff the rubber weenie in the hole and it holds up till we get back to the car. Thanks Pete. No crashes a couple blown corners. no blood, Vince and I got stabbed by a pucker bush but that was it. One flat and we were all smiles stuffing our faces at Uncles Howies. Good stuff guys. Just a side note , the ticks are out. I caught one crawling up my neck moving into my scalp! Got that little bastard!
Thanks in advance to Xavier and crew for the brushing. It was really cool to see running water and greenery up there again. SART rocks!

An excellent ride indeed, and yes, we definitely seized the day.

I've only ridden the SART twice now--the Post Office Loop with an out and back add-on to Glass Road last year and today's South Fork to the base of Morton Peak ride--but both were just awesome!

The SART has got to be one of the best trails here in SoCal!

This is especially true when you shuttle it and your descending to ascending ratio is greater than 2 : 1--like it was for us today.

Thanks to Tom, Greg and Vincent for a near-perfect and fun-filled day of bona-fide pure and epic mountain biking with good friends!

    The SART rocks!

Great day for a SART ride! Tom and Vince rode strong all day. Pete did quite well after not riding for two months. I think we'll do the whole Hellride next time. I had a great time as usual being on one of my favorite trails. Trail is in good shape with only a couple downed trees that were being taken care of by Xavier and crew like Tom mentioned above. One flat and my rear wheel growning throughout the ride. Other than that, smiles all day long. Miles and miles of single track goodness (sorry no ST pic's, guess you got to be there). The DH sections were bliss. We got to do this more often.

Fine job fellers. I see @Grego tore The Trail Slayer away from video games long enough to rip out an Epic! NICE!

Your too kind Herz. By the way who services your cane creek shock? Mine is about ready for a 100mile tune up. Not too many places to get it worked on and cc wants almost 200 for an over haul!

I coughed up the money to send it to CC. It came back very pretty, with a new black stanchion instead of the beige one (for an additional $25). I haven't used it yet. It'll wait until the DVO needs service. I'm actually kinda stoked to give it a go.
