17 mile loop... Up Maple Springs forest road, across Main Divide, and down Motorway. Maple Springs is smoothish fire road for the most part. Main Divide is chunkier up and down fire road, and Motorway is a 3 mile chunky single track downhill. It will be darkish when we finish. Bring a light.

Meet Location: I usually park at the little turnout 1/2 mile before the Maple Springs forest gate. If the gate is open, you can actually park right at the exit of Motorway, which is 1/4 mile inside the gate.

If I only had a functioning bike... Hoping to demo the new version of my RIP on Friday so hopefully I'll have my bike soon. My HT needs new rim tape and has drivetrain issues, neither of which I can get to by tomorrow.

I will be joining in on these rides soon though!

 

I have a fully functioning GT FS 29er hanging on the wall... It ain't sexy, but it rides. You're welcome to run it tomorrow!

 

Thanks! But I'm gonna let the legs chill for Friday's ride. Confirmed I can pick up a demo Thursday afternoon to ride around my home turf on Friday! Really appreciate you offering up your bike..

I'm breaking in a new chain and cog. The directions say not to put undo stress on it for the first 100 miles.

 

Speaking of chains, Friday as I was degreasing the last of the factory gunk off my chain, I noticed my Quick Link looked funny. Both pins were bent the same way. I imagine it was only a matter of hard climbs before they let go.

 

Who reads directions?? You read owner's manuals too??
