Lower Rock Creek Trail Sept 18th or 19th

Every year... well most every year I go on a fishing trip with some buds from church. It has morphed into them bringing their fishing poles and me bringing my bike to do Lower Rock Creek Trail and to make the road climb up to Lower Rock Creek Lake.

I can't say LRC is a destination trail, BUT! It is an awesome trail!

Since it is just off the 395 just before Mammoth just about at the end of mtb season, I have yet to get a volunteer to meet me and ride it with me. I always hold out hope. To this date, I always have ridden it alone unless I find a group to ride it with that happens to be there at the same time.

LRC is primarily a descent trail with the option to climb back up it, or climb the road, or be LAZY and shuttle the thing. There are those that do that. The first year I did it, I rode the whole thing and forgot to turn on my GoPro (BRILLIANT!), so I happen to run across a family that was shuttling it and they gave me a ride on my third run of the day.

SO! If someone is interested in riding on Sept 18th or 19th (or both) on Lower Rock Creek Trail, have an AWESOME time, go back to have a killer meal and brew at Tom's Place . . . . let me know.

Definitely interested. Might be able to work it into my Downieville/tahoe schedule.

I've done this ride before. Not a bad ride & if it were just a few hours closer, I'd join you!

Looks like I'll be riding it a week later. 9/27/15 Headed up that way for the same reason as you. Creek trout fishing Friday/Saturday then I'll ride LRC sunday. If anybody wants to join in, I'll be camping at Intake 2

 

On the 19th I have a memorial to attend.

 

I would love to join you, but I have to perm the cat...

(I just like using that excuse - it conjures up great imagery. I actually really like LRC Trail, and I enjoy riding with Mikie, but the likelihood of me going up there to do so right now is nil).

Were yah just sounding off, or did you really want to ride this, this weekend? I hope you guys could make this. I am going to GoPro it to document the trail and it is definitely better to have ride buddies to knock it out with...

 

I hate to be vague but I'm doubtful, between work/kids school/puppy/life but I will confirm one way or another later today. We were supposed to talk details on Sunday when we rode together but somehow with the awesome riding and celebratory beverages afterwards I forgot.

 

You really ought to invest in a hairless cat.

 

I'm already heading up to Downieville/Tahoe on the 20th and I can't work this ride in until I'm on the way back, on the 25th or so.
Solo rides are good for the soul.....
