    Thought I'd be slick and slide into Whiting from the Borrego Trail. Not today. The Portola underpass is flooded. I'm not usually adverse to a water feature but that stagnant water looked rank. (You can just make out the reflection of said water.)

    The upper section is sketchy but once you pass that part it’s pretty easy. You can look ahead and see what the trail is like. It looks worse than it really is. We have another trail called the “taint”, which I think is worse and have done many times.
