Rode with my buddy Boffa today. Decided to have him wear my gopro/ gimbal setup down TnA. The results did not disappoint. :whistling: He's done the Trans Cascadia enduro race the last few years so he is fit and fast as F. Anyways enjoy his pov run. Also, I give up on mountain biking...:gag::laugh:

    That works.

I wasn't aware of the line at 2:27-2:29. I'll have to look at it next time I'm up there. Seems less hectic than trying to go around. GoPro makes the drop look smaller than it is, I imagine.

He kinda startled the hikers a bit - but he was kind about it.

And no need to quit mtb. Just stick to his rear tire! ;)

I always take that lower line at 2:24 but was surprised he did. Most of the people I've seen hit the drop go out wide right and then come back into it. Worked for him though!

The hikers were fine with it. I talked to them since they were right at the notch by the time I came down so I had to stop:gotnothing:.

It was actually quite motivating to start trying to go a bit faster after seeing how he does it. Plus, Boffa is such a chill dude and fun to ride with because he doesn't care that I don't rip like he does.

HA! My buddy used to carry his DSLR camera in a bag strapped to his chest. We would stop and session sections of trail and he'd take pics. Those were the days....

That's the same line he took in the video. It's just a little bigger these days. What's interesting is I use to take the line where the guy in the yellow is going up. It's eroded so much in the past few years that I rarely see anyone hit it anymore.

For a self deprecating comparison this was one of my best runs to date this evening:eek:. PR'd 3 sections of the trail somehow but didn't feel like it. There's still a crap ton of work to do on my end but I'm gonna keep givin er:rolleyes:. Boffa's run lit the fire to say the least...

Nice Vid, love the gimbal plus he is smooth too.

I need to look at that line at drop, seems to me that dirt between the two rocks is much lower giving the perspective of more risk, but I think with speed as he did it was pretty smooth. I ride medium right of the roller and lose speed with the sharp left turn.

I ran 3:30 last week felt pretty good, right after some moisture. problem is the top is going to dry out quickly and it gets dusty slippery. The mustard has been cleared that helped I rode it a couple weeks back could not fly .. catching the bars on the mustard.

Ran into this guy at the bottom trying to ride on the ST back to Willow, wouldn't move had to back track and ride 133 back

Stomp your feet and bounce your bike (from a safe distance). He'll move.

Seems to be a trend with them this year for some reason. You're the 3rd person that I've heard where a rattler wouldn't move. Seems like unusual behavior but what do I know.

The drop itself doesn't seem that bad but the roll in to it is what freak me out. The big rock near the landing that looks like a pedal catcher doesn't help either. Gonna try the big roller soon regardless.

I did for about 10 minutes ... Wouldn't budge... He won the day! Easy for me to go around.

Couple days later in San Juan and ran in the same thing took four of us bouncing yelling and finally I toss sand its face and it finally move

For the roller I just need to see / observe someone do it

:ninja: < Thought that was the chicken emoji

When you see someone do the roller it makes it looks simple which it probably is, same with the drop but I still NOPE them both every time. o_O

Agreed on the approach to the drop feature, uneven surfaces on multiple rocks just before the drop make timing very important, and then the boulder on the left in the landing, while trying to navigate a left back onto the trail.

The boulder roll (middle line) is steeper than it looks as I always seem to wind up with tire marks on my butt from that feature. I cant think of any other features where that happens. It still rolls fairly smooth though, send it gents!

I also had a rattlesnake that wouldnt move a few weeks back in San Clemente. A 5 minute stand off, surrounded by the tall mustard & fox tails... it was not a pleasant situation with only 1 way to climb out.

Looking at it from the bottom, I always think the right line coming down that I usually take looks the hardest/most awkward. Need to go back up and session the other lines a few times.

Screw the lines on the roller, I'm pissed that this year's rattlers aren't paying attention to the never-fail snake clearing method!

Time to bust out the Barry White!
