Me 3!

 

I’m game once I get pedaling again. Got my stitches out yesterday but another chunk of skin removed on my back. If that comes back clear then I should be back on my bike next week. Maybe March for bigger rides if I’m lucky!

You guys got me homesick...nice vid, Jason, and great run all you stooges.

Doesn't look as rugged as I've heard. Though cameras flatten it out a lot, and J is much smoother than I.
I would be walking a lot of that, probably take me 3-5x as long.
Looks like a lot of P.O. as well = no bueño

 

A lot more trail there now than I recall. Just a little maintenance needed. Not just the downed trees blocking the trail, a couple of switchbacks that are blown out, and some trenches that need drainage work - else they just continue to get worse and worse.

 

The trees should be left in the way to stick it to the Barney’s with motorcycles.

 

Yes! They did not take away from the experience at all.

 

Yeah... except in at least one location, the trees are right in the middle of a pretty, flowy section of trail

 

I've mentioned the five motos that passed me going uphill on Joplin while I descended (not counting the 6th that turned around). Seeing the mob destruction occurring in person colors my desire for what flow there is on that trail.

 

With the lack of enforcement up there right now, they have been tearing everything up that they can get through. I've done Black Star to Motorway three times this month, and each time there are new trails popping up along Main Divide. This past weekend, I counted at least 3 that weren't there just a couple weeks ago.

I'm all for leaving a few trees down if it discourages the motos... The only mountain bikers that will bother are the people chasing Strava times.

 

ive ridden joplin once... looks to be in much better shape now. will definitely need to get up there soon. such a fun trail.

 

Joplin about 7 or 8 years ago felt like another world.. wilderness.. I rode parts..walked more parts... Dang actually it was b4 2010..shsss
