    I ride all the bikes!
What you guys think the most effective way to ride the Joplins and Luge would be?
Park at Cooks and ride up Harding?

That is the most common route now.

Unfortunately there is really no “easy” way to Joplin.

Yes, this is the way I have been doing it. Just a long grind up.

    Yes.

(I should probably add - we're talking about Upper Joplin and the Luge... Lower Joplin is an out-and-back because the bottom access is closed(?))

Another route is to park at the bottom of Trabuco Canyon and attack it via the ride up the canyon and the climb up Holy Jim. Take the shortcut around the back of Santiago and you are right at the top of Joplin. From the bottom of the Luge you can hop over into O'Neil so you don't have too much pavement to get back to bottom of Trabuco. However... (1) this route is closed due to fires and (2) I personally don't like it as much as the Harding climb.

if youre riding with a shuttle bud, leave one car at cooks and drive the other up Silverado and park in the lot before the gate (if its not full). maple springs is a shorter, easier, and more pleasant IMO, climb than Harding. Yeah, this is the laziest way to do it, but you asked for most effective, so...

Thanks guys. Sounds like rolling from Cooks. I would normally do the Holy Jim route...
My buddy is in town and has never ridden Jops or Luge.

The laziest way to do it is to have someone shuttle you up Maple Springs and Main Divide all the way to the Joplin trail head. I think it is super lame... but I have seen it done.

It sounds way better than climbing Harding and then going back down Harding.

I prefer Cooks as I dislike climbing Modjeska Grade at the end....
Shuttle Maple / Cooks works for shuttle.

And an out and back on Harding sounds way better than coronary by-pass surgery :)
