Jackson lake

I have to drive from OC to Palmdale soon and scout some land off of Pearblossom (East of the 14).
I was thinking about checking out Jackson lake afterwards if I have time. Is that possible this time of year, or is it an icefest?
If not, any suggestions?
I'd love to ride Golden Eagle, but don't really want to go that much further West.

Personally I like the Wrightwood riding better than Golden Eagle. Jackson Lake Trail is excellent but maybe too much snow up there.

Check what the conditions are at Mountain High as all the great trails are just west of there. Ie: Blue Ridge, Lucky Charms, Faultline, etc...

 

To much snow, your best bet is to ride Devils Punch Bowl and the Burkhart trail as out and backs with fabulous views!
