but if found myself getting bucked up over the bars on a steep section of narrow, chunky single-track. Managed to get my feet down and nuts slammed into the stem before realizing I was still going too fast and had to turn it into a left side body slam. Fortunately, no injuries beyond a little bruising and abrasions, bike is OK but ended up tangled with me and the front wheel spun 180* in the wrong direction. Hope to be good for another year or two but who knows?

No good!!! But, good dodge of worse injury!

Too much front brake, not enough body english, or line choice? Maybe a cocktail of? Steep, narrow and chunky sounds like a place to be on point. Good save. :geek:

What I would give for a good OTB right now. Perspective, and $h!t.

Well... You got it out of your system for awhile...

Glad you walked away! It was probably more of a bow-legged cowboy swagger, though, after hitting your nuts... :p

I don't think I ever heard the full story, but I think I'm correct in saying it was a big injury, followed almost immediately by another big injury (the knee one). Yeah, I'll pass on that. Was just thinking a nice little somersault with some minor flesh wounds and a few days of aches and pains would be a nice pittance to pay for a return to glory. A lyric from a song came to mind: "I want a sunburn, just to know that I'm alive".

Ha, funny, I like that song too, I actually play it for yoga sometimes.
Be careful what you wish for Mr, I have a nice little broken left index finger from going OTB in Dec. :whistling:

I could hear that song in yoga. When I'm back to form I should come with my better half to one of your classes. She's on a yoga tear right now, and wants me to come with her. We did a lot of yoga together back when we was a courtin'.

The scariest OTB story I've ever heard was when a guy my buddy knew up at Snow Summit told us he'd been off the bike for 6 months because his stem caught his S@$K and tore it. The dude said he was riding the Fully loop when it happened.

Lol, It’s my third broken finger, one from volleyball, the other basketball. The worst part is I can’t wear my favorite ring anymore
